Oh I agree with what you say there mate. The government should be more upfront about what is going on as there will be plenty of families who will be looking for answers who will have sadly lost elderly relatives. But there will always be that small minority of people who have an agenda even through this sad and worrying time.

There is barley a person posting on this thread without agenda. Its only being frowned on now because its shining a light on how our public services have not been funded or managed.
We are supposed to be happy unquestioning full of positivism because we can use apps designed for third world countries and having to call upon the army to manage vast swathes of privatised NHS logistics, not for me thanks...

The agenda is well noted beat and bankrupt. The government have been wanting on readiness of any pandemic, they been have found to be fudging death rate figures, wheeling out excuse after excuse, the best one being social care is mainly privatised and its hard to collate the figure, dont stop other countries with similar setups getting total figures out...
Just the home care death rates to be collated in the death rates then we have some transparency, hopefully we wont have to wait 9 months for them.

How do you know other countries figures are correct ? The answer of course is that you don’t. Who can believe China or Russia. Why do you assume that everyone else is being absolutely honest, transparent and accurate, yet immediately believe the U.K. not to be so. It’s good to have a healthy scepticism, but at least be consistent.....

As one of the goodSAMs, would you like a hug?

Still not sure I follow though really. If you had a relative in a home in Bournemouth, I can very much understand how keen you'd be to understand what they're doing in that specific home, and perhaps even in that town, but I'm not sure what events in Skegness would have to do with your great aunt Joey in Bournemouth?
Understanding and clarity alleviates anxiety, it doesn't make you a ghoul and you don't have to even have a specific connection to any one care home to have empathy for their situation and want to understand what is happening. It's a national crisis and people want clear and honest information, it makes them feel like we have a common goal.

If understanding is your goal then there would appear to be better channels for doing that, especially if you have a natural skepticism about what a Tory government tell you. All it seems to be doing is boosting anxiety.

The labour goverment in Wales not testing all workers or residents in care homes. Will only provide tests to residents or staff who have symptons, but not those who dont.

Why have Johnson Hancock and every other Minister been comparing our death rates to other countries and in particular Italy from the onset, I would happily give out some credence had you been questioning this comparison from the beginning. If they had wanted to be open honest and transparent they would have from the very beginning laid these caveats out very publicly. Its not what they say its what they don't say and its that simple to catch Tory Government out.

Not getting the social distancing or lack of PPE...

All what is doing?

Going over government statements with a fine tooth comb. I understood you lived in Wales, for instance, and I don't recall hearing anything from the devolved administration, NHS Wales, or any of those. Regarding care homes...

...are all probably more useful than whichever government monkey they wheel out at tea time.

Honest question, why do people care? It just seems so strange to be hanging on the edge of your sofa at 5pm to hear the latest death stats. If things are happening in your social circle then of course, it's important, but drooling over these national stats like it's the World Cup is just odd.

Because the reducing of these numbers is one of the key elements of ending the lockdown?
