Here in Belgium with the announcement that they were easing lockdown from 4th of May, the parks were full at the weekend. Luckily it's pissing it down for the next 10 days. I walked to the post office yesterday and the streets were deserted again.

Similar to here then. Sunday must've been 25 degrees here and it was similar to how you describe.

Yes, priority in the sense that that's where they'll protect the ICU's around the country by making those poor people the victims.

The deaths will be lot higher that is being reported, we will be only second to USA in COVID19 deatgs. Care home deaths are slowly and begrudgingly being accepted as worthy statistic, however, home care is yet to get the acknowledgement it deserves. Must be very scary if you happen to be recieving care or working in them, knowing full well you are not even regarded as a statistic.

Bit concerning about this in Germany

I'd caution against any pessimism on the German situation. As this article explains, theres conflicting data on this and inexact methodolgy in calculating the infection 'reproduction rate - R', and time lags on measurement muddy the waters on that 'gloomy' overnight news.

The people on here who are busily denying the adequacy of comparison between nations are doing a huge disservice to the forum...and their comments are, quite frankly, insulting.

This has been a catastrophe. To offer others their sophistry on statistical 'evidence' helps those in power to cover up their crimes. Unforgivable.

84950

This table is for health care workers in Italy, they were/are being tested aggressively, 20,000 positive cases so far (includes asymptomatic cases) with 69 deaths, death rate 0.4%

Iceland: https://www.covid.is/data The outbreak is almost over with around 15% of the total population tested, 1800 cases were found with 10 deaths, currently no patient in ICU, 1650 of the 1800 already recovered, currently only 150 active cases, death-rate around 0.5% (I am sure they missed some cases early on which should lower the death-rate even more)

The country of Bahrain with 1.5M population, 120,000 tests so far, 2811 positive cases with 8 deaths (death-rate 0.3%)

So the big question no one is being able to answer is: How many people are already infected/recovered in places like UK, Italy, France, Spain, USA?

Indeed the capacity of distraction is all the rage.

However, this time it's not some child abused adult junky on benefits Conservative Government can castigate and gloat how tough they are on benefit claiments.

Its going to be family and friends who are going to die indiscriminately because as a country we have taken the wrong decisions.

There was a very strong sense of anger in yesterdays COVID19 update from media. The only reason for this its what viewer's and readerships are wanting.
