Phoning 111 is probably the best bet. Don't go into a surgery!

I had flu the second week of January. Haven't been ill like that for years. It hit me like a ****ing train, fever, bed, aches and pains and it lingered, I got better thought it was all over then wham! got worse again it came back and I was coughing and sneezing again. It had ran through my family, including elderly relatives who had the flu shot. It's taken me some time to get back into the swing of things. Have had very little energy, getting back to the gym was a big effort, have lost weight etc.

As this has gone no I've half wondered if this could've been circulating undetected and I'd got an early dose. Chances are that it wasn't though so you may have what I had. I looked online and this years flu was quite a strong one. Certainly what I had was no fun. Hope you're feeling better soon.
That's exactly how a fella on radio 5 live described his symptoms when he was in Wuhan BTW.
Especially the getting better and then it clobbered him.

I'm in bed feeling like crap, usually you'd just think ok last a few days - a week perhaps and all will be fine, but now I'm thinking should I get tested so I know if I can't leave the house? Even though I haven't done anything that should have put me in contact with someone with it and you don't want to frivolously waste the NHS' time.

I'm not going anywhere anyhow so will see if I feel worse tomorrow.

Similar for me mate, I was feeling a bit rough last week especially, still a bit fatigued this week. I phoned the German hotline and they said as I hadn't been in any risk areas or in contact with confirmed cases then it's most likely not corona and I don't need to do anything.

Had a look at this site about an hour ago and it’s working out that every minute someone is diagnosed with it.Scary.

They say that you start to feel better just before pneumonia polishes you off.

The immune system stops fighting the battle which gives your body a brief rest before...Wham!! You’re a gonna!

Watch out for that folks.

Glad you are getting better. Hoping that I'm in that camp too. My wife went to Portugal at the weekend but seeing started feeling bad less than 3 days after she returned I can't see it being linked and Portugal was one of the least affected countries anyhow. Anything else (bar the utd game I went to 11 days ago) I would need someone close to have caught it - no sign of that so I should be good.

I have thought the same. I've only been off in work twice in nearly 5 years and the latest was New Year time. Just before Christmas I had a sore throat, dry cough that last about 5/6 weeks and was throwing up. Could have just been a bad cold though.

Yes mate, I'm ok. Just feel very funky. Haven't felt this bad in a while - will do the normal thing and rest up and keep hydrated and in the unlikely event the worst comes to the worst, least I can give an insight to what it is like to have it!

Don't want the dubious honour to be GOT's first though...
Ring 111 and they'll probably send someone out when you consider you're wife had recently been on aircraft. They come out in a van and will test you both.

The worrying thing is that the people doing the tests aren't completely sure of what they're doing (many learning on the job), so there's worries about the process.
