I feel being an obsessive hypochondriac is not ideal right now.
A little-known team of advisers to Number 10 are "trying, in a way that hasn’t been done before".I agree it's alarming. I have loved ones in exactly this position and it's very difficult to know just how many changes they should make to their lives.
I think there's something we have to realise about our globalised world. It's next to impossible to close the borders to a virus. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...hat-the-1918-flu-teaches-us-about-coronavirus
Don't know if you saw this before, but it's worth a read to at least get an idea of what's informing UK response:

Keep Calm and Wash Your Hands: Britain’s Strategy to Beat Virus
While China quarantined 56 million people and the whole of Italy is on lock down to counter the spread of coronavirus, the U.K. is taking a radically different approach. Instead of keeping people inside their homes, Boris Johnson’s government is trying to get inside their heads.www.bloomberg.com
...and yet, it'll stretch for months and years. How can that be a practical way forward?I mentioned it earlier about my missus' dad being in his 80s and having breathing problems. He's absolutely terrified to go out.
Plus.. Who is gonna wash your cycling shorts????Likely that if things develop that the wife will be called up as she had several years in ICU. Hasn't done that kind of work for a bit so would be very rusty (her words). Hardly ideal.

I'm in bed feeling like crap, usually you'd just think ok last a few days - a week perhaps and all will be fine, but now I'm thinking should I get tested so I know if I can't leave the house? Even though I haven't done anything that should have put me in contact with someone with it and you don't want to frivolously waste the NHS' time.
I'm not going anywhere anyhow so will see if I feel worse tomorrow.
Isn't there an hotline number ?It's one of them as well. How can you both self-isolate if you think you might have it AND go get tested to find out exposing others to it? Such a connundrum.

Not to mention there is still no shared immunity for most of China, so it will almost certainly spread again.
They don't care about me when they vote, I don't care about them when I spread viruses tbh.
