If your part of the NHS has run out of the stuff, I would suggest they havnt ordered enough. Granted, the manufacturer MIGHT supply Boots and the NHS, with different brands/packaging, but that said, not many folk working in the NHS are washing their hands any more than they did last month.

yes. just looked at the numbers again and India only reports 50 cases. that can't be correct. but even if the mortality rate is 1% (which is still 10x flu), if the contagion rate (?) is 2.5, or roughly 2x the flu rate, then it will spread twice as quickly and ten times as much will die. these are big numbers. US flu cases are estimated at 34 MM for the current flu season. 2x spread would be roughly 75 MM covid19 cases in the US. At a 1% mortality rate that's 750,000 deaths. But "it's only the flu."

Probably better looking at the hospitalitization rates. Anyone with this has been whisked off to hospital, then it becomes a bit less dangerous than the flu.

You are probably right actually. With Mrs R back home and still a bit delicate, I was a bit obsessive about that even before we got threatened with death. Or a slight cough. Made me even worse.

You know when countries say "no flights in from Iran, China, Italy etc." what do they do about people say transferring at Frankfurt coming from these places? Are airports turning them away? Is this not too late as said people will be in the airport spreading germs to people travelling to other countries etc.?

They say some countries let in natives but they have to then self-isolate but those people are then travelling from the airport to home in taxis or trains etc. spreading germs...

Mates just had to let 5 people go from his firm as exhibitons are getting cancelled left right and centre.

Again, younger generations getting shafted so old farts don’t suffer from the flu. Wonderful.

in many ways it’s a shame that this wasn’t around during those Brexit Party get togethers.
