Even though I’m having more time to exercise, I’ll come out of this a fair bit heavier because the missus is making amazing meals every day. It’s not the virus people should worry about it’s the ensuing diabetes from all the boredom snacking

Just one..
The chinese regime operate a sort of points system wherein families who toe the line are rewarded with social benefits such as freedom to travel / study abroad and so on, while those who dont toe the line are left behind as punishment. Its extremely dodgy territory in my opinion. The benefits of a totalitarian regime....
Not easy in western countries with a heightened sense of individualism. But, that sort of state intrusion may be what is required in the short term to get people back to work.
Quite surprised by Sweden’s decision. I always view Scandinavian’s as smart countries.
You also need to factor in they have 36.7% less nobheads.Sweden is still running at 10% of the U.K. numbers even though it has 15% of the U.K. population. Sweden is not in lockdown, its economy is not overly being harmed and people are getting on with their lives. If the numbers are correct, and they certainly seem consistent, then Sweden are being smart, but we will see.....
Certainly the tech being used in China, singers, japan and SK is something we should be looking at, but I don't think pushing people too far will be effective, the vast majority are onside right now but there is a huge percentage of the population who already have a massive distrust of our current leaders.Thought exactly the same thing.
They are doing some crazy spook stuff on smart phones as well.
Seems to be working mind........
Was just reading the account of the journey the Chinese correspondent for the Spanish national TV network made Beijing-Wuhan-Beijing in recent days shows the level of tracking the authorities there have implemented in order to shut down the virus - within the country.
- Health check at train station platforms upon arrival to Wuhan from Beijing.
- Another Covid-19 test & result prior to being given green light to leave Wuhan for return to Beijing. You apply via an app for a seat on a train (Beijing is limiting 1000 individuals to depart Wuhan each day).
- Arrival to Beijing sees you being tested again for the virus, in addition to a blood test & x-rays (of what kind, I’ve no idea, reporter doesn’t specify). Upon completion of this, representatives of your suburb escort you home where you’re to remain for 14 days with no permission to even get our for a supermarket shop (you either shop online or a government network assists in getting food to you).
How to china to do it.........!!!

Maybe that has something to do with the fact that they are dealing with a brand new virus they know very little about.Do they? I have my doubts.
Police should be checking all religious buildings on their day of worship. All they have to do is monitor discreetly. My brother-in-law (to be) is a muslim who attends a Mosque in Roundhay, Leeds.
He hasn't been since lockdown. But it is still open even though it has been instructed not to be. Not as normal as far as I'm aware, but it is opening for prayers etc. That's as stupid as churches opening in the US.
If just a few Mosques around the country are doing that, and if the majority of people attending those Mosques are from a Pakistani/Bangladeshi etc background (could be from anywhere obviously, i.e. my sister's fiancé is from Tunisia) then that is also going to have an impact in terms of the BAME numbers. However small, it could have an impact.
I don't know if anywhere else is doing that. I only found out today cause I spoke to my sister and him for the first time in a week and he mentioned it because he has been asked to go and basically he's kicked off about it.
A Government, led by a cabinet, who by and large, have engendered a reckless distrust of expert advice and factual information in favour of individual belief while deflecting attention away from their failures and harmful policies by blaming foreigners, public sector bureaucracy, the EU, lefties and regulation.Certainly the tech being used in China, singers, japan and SK is something we should be looking at, but I don't think pushing people too far will be effective, the vast majority are onside right now but there is a huge percentage of the population who already have a massive distrust of our current leaders.
Was astonished yesterday to see someone suggest that a parties ideology plays zero part in the handling of this, that is clearly a ludicrous suggestion. Whether it is a good thing or not is another question
