I'm ok to be honest Zatmonster. My partner and I have been really strict on the whole social distancing / isolating thing, basically since end of Feb, so this is very much the normal for us now.
Quite a few old people on our road, we're on a WhatsApp group with them, sounds like everyone is generally ok.
Good stuff, just have to stay home and keep yourselves entertained.
We arent allowed out here without a pass + mask...$50 fine if you go out to the supermarket without either.
No other reason allowed to go out + at 8pm they play the speech from the purge film and the sirens every 5mins for an hour...entertaining.
Prayers are screamed over loudspeaker as well.
End of Feb is really long...im mid march so when hopefully this ends here on april 30 i'll be at the same stage youre in now.
Talk of ignorance whilst saying that the Uk government is not responsible for its own citizens.
They had 3 months to prepare.
Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.
I havent said that, you have a nasty habit of literally lying about peoples posts...or is it just mine?
okay so firstly in a dispassionate way I mostly care about the Uk , I care about the world but the Uk is my first area of-concern.
secondly I’ve no idea if s Korea , the US , Germany or Italy etc did similar exercises in the last 18 months and if they did found they underperformed. If they did and failed to act , i‘lll deffo critiise them , as would every reasonable human surely ? I find it fairly clearcut personally .
thirdly I assume from what I vaguely recall from you you work In Business right, in the private sector ? So if you had individuals organise an exercise to see how you’d cope with a specific Scenario, whatever that may be and the results were bad . Then those individuals failed to tackle the identified issues and the scenario developed then badly smacked you on the behind, as a industry or as a professional you’re suggesting you’d be forgiving of that ? I don’t think you’d say “well x , y and z weren’t prepared either” . My guess is you’d go off your Barnet , otherwise the exercise is a complete waste of resources surely ?
politics are meaningless at this time , for me if someone’s to blame I want them held accountable and if someone has done well I’ll praise them. Simple as .
You cant use basic/general examples as literally theres no benchmarks yet. Cant say "this is a disgrace" because we havent learned what 'success' is yet. Clearly success isnt 0 deaths as thats impossible...we are only now learning more about which countries have which mutations.
Once there are comparisons done with other countries + computer generated AI results to show what should have been done...thats when finger pointing can begin.
My personal view is that Asian countries (having experienced SARS etc) and their people are much more inclined to follow rules. The only time ive heard of people breaking lockdown rules here is because:
1: Religious reasons
2: Lack of food
3: Stuck in/out of the quarantined area
People follow the rules here and have common sense like not going out much and keeping to social distancing when they did with masks + alcohol since beginning of feb + temperature checks in every single building.
In the UK there were pubs open, people partying...there are still gatherings and people are allowed out to 'exercise'. How to blame the government for that for example...why arent people staying home, posters on here were saying they were in the pub just a couple of weeks ago.
Its really up to people to stay home...if there was social distancing rules like in Singapore where places can stay open if the customers obey the rules then thats fine...
...but would you go out to your nearby town/city in England and trust everyone to obey the rules?
I wouldnt...would I here, yes.
In Asia people care about not getting the virus...in England they care about their 'rights' even if it kills people.
New Yorkers are telling me its not too bad as they can still go out to exercise...could that be why lots are dying??? Who knows...
People just need to stay home.
