Precisely, it keeps the economy going and generates employment. These selfish d.i.y.ers should be locked up.....
I'm a flat roofer by trade and the amount of jobs I went out too where people had tried to do it themselves because as they put it "it looks easy to do" and they've made an absolute mess which ended up costing them more than it would have if they had just got me in to do it in the first place.
Now I'm not saying flat roofing is rocket science but there is lot more too it than just rolling out a roll of felt.

I have four flat roofs. Three are relatively small over dormer windows, the other is large being the garage roof. I would never dream about doing them myself. The hassle from getting something wrong is the stuff of nightmares. Always get an expert in and sleep soundly.

So far I've had a coffee, done the washing up, emptied out the cellar, laid out all the damp stuff in the cellar to dry, called the building owner about the leak in the cellar, done some washing, folded some other washing and now I have to go the butcher.
Nightmare.
Massive respect for SNA's a chara, one of the most skilled and under valued roles in our society, wonderful, dedicated and gifted people we really under value.
One of the things i really struggled with during this crisis was on, an opinion on SNA being redeployed to the nursing home sector. While the human resources are badly needed in Health care, (25% of my team have either got the virus or have had to isolate due to exposure). SNA's as a group are often working in poorer conditions, pay, holidays then say the likes of teachers. Who have done sweet FA - despite what they would tell you (in Ireland) during this.
I find SNA's being deployed to nursing homes, that are the biggest cluster areas In Ireland as being massively unfair and easy picking to be honest, its taking on huge and complex risk they wouldn't be used to. They will do it and put themselves at risk because they are amazing people. But come the summer and if this settles, a lot of them will be let go and not paid over the summer until Sep (if school comes back) while you can bet anything you like the teachers will take their three months paid leave. Teachers should be redeployed to helping with childcare of health care professionals, health service admin or contact tracing, im not buying they are doing loads remotely at all and its not a priority, they are all on their Easter break now. The government wont take them on as they are heavily unionised but as a society we should remember which public servants stood up and which one's sat down during this crisis, should be the first to be cut in the next round of wage negotiations. 1 SNA is worth 10 teachers.
Any how rant over, im delighted your better half got redeployed to a contact tracing post and she will be safe, some have been sent right into the firing line in nursing homes and it must be really frightening. Ive huge experience in health care and im very careful and cautious around this virus and its risk in work. The poor SNA's sent right in to the cluster epicenters in nursing homes who wouldn't be used to it, must be terrifying. Wonderful, wonderful people, im really rooting for them, real heros that shouldn't be forgotten.

TBH did you see the experiments of certain drugs they are using against Covid 19 now that have had some response, let's hope some sort of cure can be found just to hat this awful virus....
I'm quite competent mate but I'll always get a trade in for specific jobs.

.....not important in the scheme of things, but final payment due next week on a TuI holiday for Mrs Eggs and I. Not sure what to do, I can’t see it happening in early July. Already had one cancelled and still awaiting the monies.
