He is clearly terrified pf straying from the script but I do think he has spoken at least like a human being who is trying to do a job in a time of turmoil. I realise I am setting a low bar here but its an improvement of johnson, gove or that gang of sociopaths over the atlantic

Yeh don't get me wrong I'm no fan but he at least showed something.

I don't envy any of them.

Without imposing a curfew, how do you police what some idiots are doing in their own homes though ?

Even then, they’ll be at during daylight hours with it being a bank holiday and the weather being nice.

Imagine the uproar if a power of arrest was attached to the lock down rules !!!!
Just fine the lot of them mate. They're idiots. Hit them where it hurts.

660 parties. And that's just that they know of. Unbelievable

On a side note - In the same way that Brexit made people hate each other (i.e lots of animosity from the younger generations towards their Brexiteer parents etc) - Do you think that this whole mess will make the British public more distrustful and negative towards other members of the public?

Find myself disliking other people more and more each day

I think it just shows how stupid that four-year argument over Brexit was tbh.

What I've actually found from all this is that people - the ones who were usually the ones shouting the loudest about Brexit (or insert political argument here) - just like bossing others around on social media.

It's exactly the same people. So in terms of that lot, yeh, I probably get the feeling you do that I dislike them even more.

But in terms of the general community spirit etc I think it's actually done some good.

Certainly the first night there`d be a stampede to the pubs.

was chatting to my mate in Australia earlier and he mentioned how he doesn't actually think there will be (or he hopes not anyway) a 'first night'.

This is what the government do need to get right whenever the time comes - how to ease things back gradually so to avoid a massive surge.

Open cafes etc, maybe on a reduced scale, and still ensure people are all using the measures they were in the immediate run up to lockdown.

Keep certain aspects in place and just gradually open more and more stuff. Keep gatherings off until mid-to-late June etc.
