Answer the question comrades, why is Russian history so important?

You've been led by the nose by communist propaganda that's why the UK government ignored intelligent advice. Cause aye it'll all be grand, we can trust them.

I've noticed that no-one has answered the question. Why is that we all learned about Russian history? When UK and Irish folks moved to America.

I think the extent of my education in the Soviet Union was about 25% of my a level in history which was Russias role in WW1,the build up to the revolution and then Lenin murdering a load of peasants.

In year 9 I learned about the Molotov Ribbentrop agreement and operation Barbarossa.

I have to say, the Boksheviks didn't come out smelling of roses.

So in terms of compulsory history education, its quite possible to go through the British school system only knowing that Stalin switched sides in WW2 and knowing nothing of their society... at least it was in the 80s and 90s.

Learning about the failings of the 5 year plans and the manipulation by the state to make them appear wonderful really made me worshipful of the idea of Communism.
