who knows? normally he would, but every hospital in the land might well have crammed all its COVID patient beds into wards to get as much capacity as possible

The downplaying of him going to hospital is looking really silly...now they are trying to downplay him going to intensive care!

Makes a mockery of our experts going out on limb with the 7 day isolating and rest once symptoms are evident and the World health organisation recommends 14 days of isolating and rest.

No because beside us and the USA a lot of other countries use common sense.

The serving PM shouldn't have been within 5 metres of absolutely anyone once this really kicked off here. He should have been isolated and wheeled out for press conferences with a zoom lens and that's it. But no.

Hell, we've done it with the bloody Queen. It's not rocket science to work this crap out.

If Trump doesn't get it it'll be a miracle. Seen those US press conferences? Ten or so people standing around on a stage - literally asking for it to happen.

There has to be massive tariffs – wherever it came from (whether the lab as now suggested as the type of bat its from doesn't colonise close to Wuhan, but they were doing tests on those bats in the Wuhan labs) or the wet markets.

Kind of grateful for Trump in that sense. Hate the bloke. But bloody hell, he won't have any second thought about it.

Then again, boils down to the west being entirely too dependant on China for pretty much everything. It's a horrid government. A communist state. And all the west have done is hand it power down the years because stuff is cheaper.

It would have - telling the people that even he can get it, that even he has to stay home, self-isolate and take care of himself, that someone in their 50s can be taken down by this vile illness and that even he can be saved by the NHS would have got more people to take this seriously.

Sadly, they downplayed the seriousness of this constantly and now here we are.

They didn’t want to believe it was going to be as bad as they were told. Can understand it if you put yourself in their shoes but they are elected to make difficult decisions and they have absolutely failed to do so, resulted in our PM being seriously unwell. Ridiculous.

You would expect so for a multitude of reasons, but if he is critical then perhaps not - circumstances etc. I expect we will only ever find out if, unfortunately, he dies.

Exactly. It’s absolutely crazy how trump and boris have acted. Boris shaking hands with everyone and trump going against the advice of face masks. Whilst Putin is threatening to put folk away for months for even going outside if they have a cough.

Don't know the exact figures but isn't it over half dead for patients who are 50+? Enlighten me.
