Sad news, but it just highlights how idiotic it was to pretend he was fine last night and today.

I have no confidence that it will, but whoever is responsible for telling the country these absolute mistruths needs sacking.

Tbf one of the things I’ve heard a lot of doctors say is that a Covid patient can suddenly change - one moment you think they are fine and then they go rapidly downhill.

Must be awful for his pregnant partner who iirc also has it.

It is, and I do hope he recovers because otherwise as you say the impact on her at this worst of all times (and their kid) will be life-defining.

I just wish that they'd used the last 24 hours to prepare people for this.
