None of those countries are an island, like the UK or England, Wales and Scotland.

Like I said I have no disagreement that we should have been better prepared.

I don't think what we're doing now can be considered as 'the worst possible way' to be dealing with it though.

We're in lockdown. People are taking the precautions. What more do you want done, right at this moment?

We've got loads of things I'm sure we're in agreement on that should have happened sooner, mainly for me, the production of more ventilators, the requisition of private hospitals, turning arenas/convention centres into hospitals. Think had we done all of those sooner then we'd have actually been in a much better place to not have to crash the economy and put thousands – even millions – out of work and do more damage in the long term than the virus would in the short.

As it is we didn't do any of that so now we're playing catch up. We're in lockdown and people are following the measures. Hopefully after 2-3 weeks we start to see positive results and then maybe, just maybe, 2-3 weeks on from that we could gradually start to see those measures loosening.

We’re not testing though are we so we simply Don’t know how many are recovering , that’s how many are recovering from being very seriously ill.

Since 22/03/2020 no one that has been treated by the NHS has recovered, according to the official NHS figures,

Precisely.

I know four people who have had the symptoms now in the last 3 weeks. None of them have been seriously ill at all. Brushed it off in a matter of days. One of them had bad flu-like symptoms for 24 hours.

Three of them can't be 100% certain they have had it like but they had the symptoms.

Only one who is certain is my mate's girlfriend's dad (I know, tenuous, but my mate lives with them) - he's the head of NHS walk-in centres for Yorkshire/Humber and was tested last week. Came back positive so even though he's not ill they're all in the middle of isolation, obviously.

there’s a lot of data being released, and while the numbers were low for a long period, there could be a lot of identifying data in there that would have to be redacted daily to ensure anonymity.

that is not an excuse for people to be asked to consent though

So the incompetent and incoherent buffoons at the top, i.e Johnson and this government should be held to account for not protecting the UK population.

And the WHO should be held accountable for not doing their jobs.

The Italian government should be held accountable. The Spanish. The Americans and French. Even the perfect Germans didn't act quickly enough. China - don't even get me started.

Tons of questions need to be asked of pretty much 90% of the world's governments and the WHO.
