What has become blatantly obvious is that the half state/half privatised health service in this country has failed. If the NHS had a nationalised industry that produced products like beds, ventilators, ppe etc. and medical centres that produced medicines, then we wouldn't be in the state we are in with ventilators and PPE.. They would have rolled off the production line by now. But the Tories saw fit to not keep enough stock due to cost. Criminal.

You really do write some stupid comments don’t you ........

Whilst the UK government came out saying all the right things a couple of weeks back it is quickly becoming apparent that there were a lot of false promises.

Things are unravelling fast for the government and one by one they are disappearing out of public view whilst the death count rises at considerable rates.

I fear that this governments days are numbered and there maybe public unrest.

Unbelievable.

Testing Just 2,000 NHS frontline workers tested so far

More liar, liar pants on fire. Disgracefull cover up.

"On Sunday, the government boasted – in its daily press conference and its social media – that it had delivered 170 million safe face-masks to NHS staff on the front line of the fight against the coronavirus.
The claim was immediately dismissed by angry staff who had either no masks at all, or only basic surgical masks that do not protect against the virus. The claim was also contradicted by footage of staff in action – none of whom were wearing masks of the minimum standard recommended by the World Health Organisation.
And just two days later, the government has been forced to drop its claim – because it was untrue":

More insightful than coterie of performing Tory seals trying to defend a succession of ideaological Governments. That has left the country ill-equipped or prepared to deal with a pandemic despite being warned constantly the danger Health and social care was already in under Tory governance with its financial constraints. Let alone being expected to manage in circumstances we now find ourselves in. It's dismantled the Health and Social care roof and let rain in on us all.

Irresponsible murderous scum. Johnson, Hancock, Cummings, the Frankenstein quacks et al.

Get these [Poor language removed] down the road and install a government of unity.

They cant go on. No chance. There will be utter bedlam soon if they aren't deposed.

There will. It will come. Unfortunately.

You have the nerve to ask me to put people forward who wouldn't get this more wrong than the nobheads you cheerily support.

If I'd backed those murderous [Poor language removed] I'd be keeping a low profile mate, not trying to provoke a reaction.

But you keep saying they should be replaced, yet have not offered up any alternatives. Your solution is ‘just not them’. Personally out of all the politicians we have I’d rather have the ones we have than any others available....

I hope you are right, but I fear you won't be - at least down here.

The only things that stopped there being severe ructions after Grenfell was luck, people seeing the emergency services trying to save people from the block on TV and the almost immediate promise of a wide-ranging and fearless inquiry (which has largely come true, at least so far) combined with an effective criminal investigation into how it happened. Even then we came close a couple of times to quite big public disorder taking place.

The death toll from this outbreak is already way above that disaster, there are sadly going to tens of thousands of people who have lost a close friend or family member to this, and there is going to be an economic contraction of probably a significant scale. Add in the approach of summer and you basically have every ingredient required for a big riot to take place, at least. If they handle the aftermath as badly as they have the outbreak it is going to go horribly wrong.
