There wont be bedlam mate.
This crapfest has reinvented how Brits queue. And we love a good queue. Had a quite cheerful chat, well a half bellow cos there was about 10 foot between us, with a chap while in the queue for my old mans meds at the chemist earlier.
We even got onto Brit fave subject #2. The weather.
I hope you are right, but I fear you won't be - at least down here.
The only things that stopped there being severe ructions after Grenfell was luck, people seeing the emergency services trying to save people from the block on TV and the almost immediate promise of a wide-ranging and fearless inquiry (which has largely come true, at least so far) combined with an effective criminal investigation into how it happened. Even then we came close a couple of times to quite big public disorder taking place.
The death toll from this outbreak is already way above that disaster, there are sadly going to tens of thousands of people who have lost a close friend or family member to this, and there is going to be an economic contraction of probably a significant scale. Add in the approach of summer and you basically have every ingredient required for a big riot to take place, at least. If they handle the aftermath as badly as they have the outbreak it is going to go horribly wrong.
