TBF dave almost all of Johnson’s commentariat chums are banging the “back to work” drum, as are his ilk in the US; they are probably preparing the ground for the PM to come out with a load of sub-Churchillian waffle and lift the lockdown too early.

I disagree. No way he after "being at death's door" is going to advise others to get out there in any time soon. It would make him look completely barking mad.

That polling just shows how important the question is in getting a certain result - the overall finding was that 51% of people approve of what the Government has been doing, even though when you question them further they don’t rate anything of what they’ve been doing well.

You cant kid people. The government have failed. The only reason their popularity rating is not as bad as the polling on their efforts to test, provide PPE or act quickly enough is because the public desperately want to believe they aren't being driven over a cliff by their political leaders.

Because they went for a policy of holding the door open for the virus to come in, the government are not in any position to take the steam out of discontent by rolling out plans for an easing off of the lockdown. So, they'll face even more leakage of support and wont have the levers to pull to stop them plummeting into political crisis.

All this because they "went with the science"...of Spads like Nosferatu. Johnson, HanCOCK, Gove, Patel...all in the dock with them.

Reminiscent of when Boris Johnson's dad said he had no intention of following his son's government advice to social distance and avoid going out. Totally irrelevant to anything that is going on.

wrong plain wrong banning the press from asking questions and banning them from press conferences for not towing the line. the government are quick enough to use the media to there advantage for personal gain and to spout tripe about the opposition. and make out to joe public that theyre all that is right and correct in the country with every decision thats made how its the correct and morally right one. then when they're questioned or asked why? asked to explain to Joe public anything bad they pass the buck start this bull you can't ask why where or when and show Joe public that the government was is wrong in any way shape or form. it riles me that freedom of speech and public interest is being eradicated by threatening to ban the media from reporting on what they don't want the public to know.
