Martinez was very disrespectful and belittling at times. I don’t get such behavior and lack of sportsmanship by some footballers. He should have gotten a card but the referees were unfair towards Colombia throughout the whole tournament so it is not surprising.

Im glad England didn’t suffer the same fate that Colombia did and hopefully they will win be the Euro champions!
Yeah thanks for the sentiment. I think somehow for many reasons England will somehow get over the line and lift the Cup.

Thinking back to that shoot out with Martinez, and his motor mouth out psyching your boys. If I was at a card game with the lads that missed the pens my poker face would have them folding in no time lol

Sorry Sassy but you are a good sport and I wish Colombia all the best in the World Cup coming up.

I have the same feeling and look forward to watching an exciting match on Sunday.

Thanks @TangerineToffee If Colombia plays like they did against Paraguay and Argentina then there is hope for us to qualify to the World Cup and do well.

I haven't caught 1 second of this meh tournament.

Whats the standard been like, bet it's been depressing to watch without fans.
Up and down in the group phase, but I kind of expected that given 4 of 5 in each group advanced to the knockouts. Thought the semi finals were good, and fully expect the Brazil-Argentina final to be a cracker even without fans.

Are there rules against trash talking?

My understanding is that yes, it would fall under the general rule of misconduct and especially could warrant a yellow if the player was previously warned to stop.

I'm finally catching up on watching these games--lots of foul play and red cards...so, you know Copa as usual.

EDIT: just quickly looked it up and it seems there is a rule about "verbal distraction" during play or at a restart, so that perhaps could be used to stop trash-talking.

I hope you’re right. It will be interesting. Argentina scored early against Colombia and then sat back until Colombia equalized. I think against Brazil they’ll try and stay on the front foot as much as they can.

I suspect Argentina will blow it again, and Messi will be tightly marked and relentlessly fouled. Morale will sag if Brazil score the first goal and Argentina will be playing catch-up all game long. 2-1 Brazil. I would like to be proven wrong with my prediction though. I'm rooting for Argentina.
