Ten days after it was announced that the Cup will not be held in Colombia because of the social unrest and the Covid situation there, now there has been confirmation that it will not be played in Argentina either because of a record coronavirus surge. So 14 days away from the starting date to Copa America 2021, the tournament has no venue. but Conmebol remains firm the tournament will be played from June 13 to July 10 and is currently analyzing previous offers by other countries that showed interest in hosting the continental tournament. Which probably means they are pursuing the government of right wing Bolsonaro to host it in Brazil. South America still is a mess right now when it comes to Covid and after a year of loss lives, South America still is suffering its worst death tolls yet. But it seems Conmebol doesn't care about prioritizing the health of their football players nor others human beings involved in the tournament. Shame on them!

It doesn’t seem like Conmebol is looking at such graphs but they should be. It really makes no sense for the tournament to be played under the dire circumstances South America is going through at the moment. I love football but there is more important things in life than a cup.

Australia were meant to play in it this year (they always have a couple of guest nations now).
Perhaps just move the whole thing to Australia since we are still open for business? No fans from SA obviously, just the players

Something like 85% of Japanese population want it cancelled. They've only vaccinated a tiny amount of the population.

Japan cant actually cancel it onlybthe IOC can but its very unpopular at the moment domestically.

I think it’s best a this stage to pull it completely, to have both hosts drop out 2 weeks before it’s supposed to begin is a bit farcical

I read that too, about having here in the US but it seems it won’t be easy to make such a shift. But Conmebol would do anything to make it happen given this competition is great source of revenue for the organization and money is all they seem to care about.
