They haven’t confirmed yet, nor the location for the games but I’m sure in the next few hours Conmebol will be tweeting another update. I wouldn’t be surprised if Brazil decides to have fans. Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, Brazilian football's leaders have been thinking only about themselves, the game and money.

It's disgusting. If they allow fans in, players should be pulled. Bolsonaro has shown contempt for the health of Brazilians. Then again, I have my reservations about the scenes in Porto on Saturday night, too. I'm really not sure football fans should be in stadia this summer regardless of current vaccination progress.

I totally agree. It is despicable but no surprising giving Bolsonaro hasn’t care at all about keeping Covid infection rates low in Brazil. He and his wife actually have been embracing unproven cures, such as bleach, to treat Covid. And their current vaccination rate still very low for a country with such large population. So no fans should be allowed but we will see.

The only reason Balsonaro's government is starting to have regrets about allowing Copa America to take place in Brazil, it is because local state governments began notifying him that they won't be allowing matches to take place in their state lol

With all the drama about Ancelotti today, I had totally forgotten about Copa America. I am not surprised about still happening in Brazil, Bolsonaro just needed enough time to fill the pockets of politicians running state governments so they would go along with his plan of holding Copa America matches at their stadiums.

The only small saving grace is that they are doing it without fans. The way Bolsonaro has behaved I assumed he’d want the stadiums filled out and without masks

That’s relieving to hear about no fans at the stadium. I’m thinking that was the only way Bolsonaro got approval from State governments. That along with throwing some money their way.

While it’s not the option most people will desire, I suspect cancelling or postponing the competition will be the best outcome.

I really wish there was no football this summer. Now in addition of dealing with Everton’s drama I have to deal with Colombia’s. If we don’t win a least one of the qualifying matches coming up we probably won’t make it to the WC and then my poor heart is going to be so sad this summer because of the Blues and the Yellows.

What’s the point?

Surely the biggest revenue spinner is fans? Do sponsors really want to be part of a rushed job, with no fans, making it the worst copa every?

Feels like such a wasted opportunity, they could have taken it to the states, and had it in highly populated latín areas and at least got 20-30,000 through the door, especially as it isn’t football season.
