Or to put it realistically:

the club being run badly as a stagnating, barely self funding business (currently)

the club being run well as a self funding business

being bank rolled by a benefactor

The difference between the first & the second options won't make a noticable difference.

Only a benefactor coming in would dramatically alter the landscape.

A few in the EL, Loads of early exits to lower league sides when we tried to play them at kick n rush and most telling this season as we started playing good football, got touted for the CL spot and then the football died and we've gone back to a mix of down the left and hoofing. With the odd good footballing performance to be fair.

Tremendous day job, turn up for work and focus all day on turning broken leakey taps tighter.

Imagine doing that for 13 years every day with a big pay off at the end.

I agree his cautious approach has reared it's head at times, however there are times when the players have just simply not been good enough, such as last years semi final.

His positives still outweigh his negatives though IMO.
