CONFIRMED: Moyes Leaving - All Reaction Here

If Moyes has ambitions of winning trophies and managing in the CL then surely he is off.

I have criticisms of Moyes, but I believe he has done enough with us to deserve to be given a chance where he is backed financially enough to have a real go at matching his ambitions.

I understand where people are coming from when they have said Moyes will sign a new contract as he basically sets his own targets and is on princely sum, I've thought that in the past. But, lets face it, he could walk away from football right now, never work again and still struggle to spend all his earnings in a lifetime. If he goes and doesn't walk straight into another job then I'm sure he will pick up decent money here and there through media work until something come along. I don't believe personal gain is uppermost in his mind over this decision.

Whatever happens Everton FC is bigger than David Moyes. Always will be.

Bk needs to lay down the gauntlet to DM first he stated he would make his mind up after the transfer window in January - now its lets see where we finish or if we win a trophy ??? Where was he in the build up to the Oldham game today on tv as a pundit??? up in Scotland
He has to do the decent thing let the club know now so we can hunt for a replacement if he makes his mind up now to go at the end of the season!

His point is that he's still had 25million etc at points to spend whether through player sales or not, it's still a budget to work off when it appeared.

The "net spend" argument to me is kopiteish in terms of using it to an advantage to either cover up failures of your team, or boost "the punching above your weight" honour.

Fundamentally, Moyes has for the most part bought well, while others around him haven't. But to say Moyes has had zip and is a pauper in the bad world of football solely based on "net spend" is a bit lop sided imo. It's the "We never lose with Phil Neville in the side" type of argument to prove a point.

I look at the whole picture. The problem has always been the sell to buy policy when we've needed the cash to push on and it's not been there.
Err no it wasn't. his point was we have spent big money at times. Mine was that we havnt. Your entire post is wrong

Are we seriously now criticising a football manager for watching a football match, in the evening, a full 5 days before his team play?

You must be hoping SO badly we lose today so that can be wheeled out.

I'm turned, Artetafan, I'm with you, he can be replaced, not easily but there is a future without him, and if he has got to the stage of thinking that he is to big/good for us then he can **** himself off.

Displays like today are the reason why I won't shed too many tears in Moyes calls it a day. We bottle it every time we have a chance to elevate our club due to his negativity. I'm 100% certain that the performance would have been just as bad if we had been against a Vauxhall Conference team, because these inexplicably poor displays are not about the opposition, they're about us and our inability to produce it when it counts.

It's only kneejerking if you produce an over the top reaction to a one off event.

Moyes and failure in cup competitions go hand in hand like bacon and eggs. Even before today it was valid to criticise Captain Failure and the Surrender Monkeys.

Two semis and a final in the past 4 years. Okay mate.
