CONFIRMED: Moyes Leaving - All Reaction Here

I for one hope we don't lose moyes but would like to see a younger manager take the job, one who wants to be successful and prove themselves! Any other big manager wouldn't put up with what Moyes has had to.

Just a bit too early for Big Dunc, that would be a PR stunt to keep some fans happy

Moyes has a big bank account to be thankful for from Everton. He's never rocked the boat with this board because he's had the safest job in the league.

We are not expected to win anything because him and Kenwright have fed this bollocks that Everton are punching above their weight which the Sky generation lap up.

If he goes, he goes. No one is bigger than Everton Football Club.

I think its time for all fans to adopt this mindset...

Just because Moyes comes across a decent fella who'd like to win things doesn't mean he's not motivated by money too. You'd be naive in the extreme to think he's not arsed about 5-10m over the course of a contract. He's playing the game for himself, Not for transfer funds, or anything else.

To be honest.... He's been here 10 years and nothings changed at board level and how they operate.

It's took him this long to cotton on to the glass ceiling and the incompetence of Board he's backed and defended for 10 years?

Strange...

What's changed is his bank account and his reputation. He leaves a year into the job, he'd have less money and be less likely to be offered a good job elswhere.

You can blame moyes all you like for not signing his contract, but once again the board are to blame. The net spend moyes has had to work with is frankly laughable during his tenure with us. I challenge any manager to achieve as many top 8 finishes as moyes, with as little net spend. Moyes, yes hasn't won a trophy with us, and hasn't beaten a top 4 side away from home, but no-one can argue with his ability to get the best out of players. Many on here don't respect moyes for the job he has done (mostly due to his inability to win a trophy) however you only have to look in the high esteem, he is held by his fellow managers who appreciate the fine manager that he is. Our club will crumble like a pack of cards without moyes. Who could we attract to the club with our net spend to offer them? The names already mentioned are frightening. If moyes leaves felliani will leave in the summer, will soon be followed by baines no doubt. I really do fear for the future of this club!

I'd argue with his ability to get the best out of players when it really counts. You are correct about the board, it depresses me thinking about them.

.

Are you honestly saying the reason we haven't won anything is because the "Sky generation" believe the "bollocks" that Everton are "punching above their weight"?

In Moyes' time in charge the only clubs to have won the title have spent roughly £1b extra each than Everton (£100m per club extra over 10 years).

Either it is a massive coincidence that the only clubs who win stuff are those that spend literally hundreds of millions of pounds or there might just be a link.

People say Everton are punching above our financial weight because we are. As will become abundantly clear if the next manager only performs averagely.

I think it would be better to realise actually how important Moyes has been to the survival of our club, no one is bigger than Everton but no one is a better asset to the club right now either.
Everything Kenwright does to destroy us, Moyes has to counter in the transfer market. For a decade and more he has succeeded and then some, there will be no second chances for a new manager to get it right because one maybe two really bad transfer windows and we are beyond screwed. Imagine we sold Fellaini and bought Shelvey.
I hope you lot don't get your wish to find out what another manager will do because for the tiny chance he could do better, there is an enormous chance he will do far worse.

Spot on.

That's it - he's off.

He can't announce it now because it would have a negative effect on the players' performances for the rest of the season. Haven't read all the posts above but stuff about 'holding the club to ransom' and 'stringing the fans along' are well wide of the mark. Moyes probably feels that the only person that has been strung along is himself - by a board full of empty promises about backing him to take us to the next level. Utter horsesh*t of course - he has been keeping them out of jail for years while the price of their shares has risen.

Have been dreading this day for a long time. Previous delays in signing contracts haven't been strung out this long - something is genuinely afoot. Just hope we can get our hands on the Cup this season so he goes out on a winning note, but I doubt if it would make any difference to his decision.

In shock, gutted, and seriously concerned about our immediate future now.

If Moyes was interested in his bank account, he would have accepted Bill's offer of another long term contract and another pay increase months ago.
