If Moyes is waiting to see if Everton finish 4th or win the FA Cup then we may as well say goodbye to him now.
I reckon anyone suggesting he's trying to bully the board into backing him or selling up is guilty of some seriously wishful thinking. He went three years without being able to buy a single first team player and still sided with Kenwright when the Blue Union protests were happening. I didn't expect him to put on a red nose and throw pieces of Heitinga cake at directors, but he could have just stayed out of it.
I have to admit though, I don't really want him to go. His football has been awful at times, and his public championing of a board which is destroying the club infuriates me, but at least we're safe as long as he's here. Also, he has managed to build a couple of good footballing teams over the years.
There's every chance I'll be calling for his head after our annual Anfield bumming in May, but with a cool head I can't think of a genuine reason to want rid while Kenwright remains. The Everton job is currently one of the highest paying in football, but dozens of managers resign in far less demanding circumstances every season.
Kenwright and his board should be looking at potential replacements, but it's tough to say which avenue they should go down. Finding another Moyes in the lower leagues would be difficult, not least because unlike the man himself they'd be walking into a dressing room full of accomplished players; many of whom are internationals earning upwards of £40k a week. They're not just going to take **** from some fella they'd never heard of twenty-four hours earlier.
There are managers that have achieved great things on small budgets on the continent (Van Gaal at AZ, Mazzarri at Napoli and Pellegrini at Villarreal spring to mind), but the Premier League seems to be more about money than any other top league. There's so much to consider.
I wonder if Kenwright still has Walter Smith's phone number. He's quite good at picking managers.

I can't believe people are seriously putting Mourinho forward as a candidate for the Everton job.
He manages the richest club in every country he works in. When he comes back to England it'll be to take over at Man City.

Investment + Mourinho = Trophies
People are going to slate but I can see mourinho coming . Moyes is a very high paid manager so wages won't be an issue and he wants to come to England . I can't see him going Chelsea or arsenal . Tottenham have avb maybe united if fergie goes . He said everton are a fine club . I think he would be up for the challenge of getting everton into a established champions league team . Maybe be outside the box but these are the things going for him
why he could be getting bored of managing high profile clubs and could be a wise guy like guadola and take a steady club and turn into challagers . Mourinho has being to clubs with the money and maybe wants a different expierence
Imagine it tho mate, good news is that we'd be dominant for years but the bad news is we'd gain plastic fans.Too bad we're getting neither.

If Mourinho came in I would die of happiness.
He accepted that when Pienaar did it, to be fair.
