Just because I dont think it is doesnt mean its not. So to call it "rubbish" would suggest hes on the major defensive. Therefore in denial, as he probably thinks it may have some sort of effect.

In English, if moyes didnt subconsciencley think it may have an effect on the team he wouldnt have answered with a majorly defensive response of "I think its rubbish" so although publically disregarding it, he probably knows it "may" be effecting certain players Saints lad

Your wasted on here......bright lights for you hopefully the brain surgery spot lights.

I think that's rubbish... Which you will of course be pleased with, as i clearly see the logic in it according to your logic, whilst the rest will be thinking i think your wrong.... Unless i think your wrong of course in which case i guess i would think that was rubbish and would say so.

Everton manager David Moyes has rejected claims that uncertainty about his future is affecting the team after one win in five Premier League matches.

"I think that's rubbish," he said. "We're still realistically playing for a place in the Champions League."

Moyes, who joined in 2002, is out of contract at the end of the season and could wait until then before deciding whether to stay at Goodison Park.

They drew 2-2 with League One Oldham last weekend and will play Wigan in the quarter-final if they win the replay.

They visit Norwich City on Saturday and Moyes is hoping his side can push for a place in the top four between now and the end of the season.

"Most seasons we've tended to finish sixth, seventh or eighth and if you ask the people who know football they would say that's about as good as Everton can do," said Moyes.

"We've probably been playing at our maximum for a long time at Everton - foot hard to the pedal - and I'm hoping we can go a wee bit further this season and maybe do better in the FA Cup."

For Everton to reach the targets laid down by Moyes, the former Preston North End boss says Belgian forward Kevin Mirallas needs to start producing more regularly.

The 25-year-old, who was signed from Olympiakos in August 2012, has only scored once in the Premier League this season - his campaign disrupted by a hamstring injury which ruled him out between early November and late January.

"I don't think he is firing on all cylinders," said Moyes. "He has not returned the way I would like him yet.

"He is still getting used to the Premier League and I think he has to create me more goals and score me more goals.

"That is what I am waiting for him to do, and he knows that - I have told him that. We are hoping for more. I think his form at the start of the season was excellent and we saw what he was capable of.

"I don't think we have really had that from him since he came back from his injury."

So he is weighing up the situation.....qualify for the CL and/or win the FA Cup and he might stay. Don't qualify or win FA Cup and he's off!!! Yeah OK David. If I was BK and co I would see if we reached the cup final then tell him to do one. I can't understand anyone who condones his stance....he is acting like he is God. Sorry but i would be a [Poor language removed] and say tara, thanks but who do you think you are!! He has gone about this all wrong.

Wasn't this Moyes will he won't he thing where we came in 4 yrs ago. Come the first game of next season we might just be changing the name from Lescott to Fellaini

Injuries that season major factor on not winning the FA Cup.

They were. We played some fantastic football - Arteta was superlative, Pienaar and Baines first started to form their intuitive undertsanding, Cahill was a hero upfront, Lescott and Jagielka were monstrous at the back.

I'd say - an on-form Jelavic aside - that the 08/09 team was better. I think Jelavic & Mirallas in that 08/09 squad would have made a huge difference

Jagielka and Lescott was the best defensive partnership in the land and we were starting to see the best of Arteta until he got injured. Ive always said if we had Jagielka and Arteta playing, we would have won. Still stand by that now.

Missing 2 of our best players (not including yakubu) certainly didn't help. Hibbert wasn't match fit either though and he was the weak link on the day. Shame... bit more luck with injuries that season and it could've been ours.

Great motivational speaking from Moyesie here. The players must be pumped up and ready to snatch a CL place hearing that spirited call to arms.
