CONFIRMED: Moyes Leaving - All Reaction Here

There is only one manager in the world who could take over a team 7th in the third flight and get them into the second.

That's almost as bad as Moyes being the only manager who'd keep everton in the prem.

Nobody said that.

Dunno why you can't just accept Martinez has had a major influence on Swansea's continued success.

Not when they only play the style of football that they do because Martinez introduced it.

I doubt their chairman would have enforced that kind of football on a league one outfit himself, or most other managers.

You can't know that and you can't know that they wouldn't have had equal success with other styles.

But you're doing that thing people always do, which is creating a hypothetical worse scenario and justifying the current one by comparing it with it.

The "well yes I slept with your brother but hey I didn't kill your father and maybe another boyfriend would have done' thing. Or 'without Moyes we'd be in league one'.

They hadn't had success with other styles of football for 24 years, then Martinez came along and they won the friggin league.

I don't understand your first sentence, it's not about whether they would have had success with other styles or not, im dealing with facts.

Fact: They play the way they do because of Martinez
Fact: He got them back in the Championship for the first time in 24 years
Fact: No other manager in 24 years could manage that

I think we probably would have discovered gravity without Isaac Newton, but the fact is that he discovered it, just like it's a fact that Swansea play passing football because Martinez introduced it. Maybe they would have discovered passing football without him, but that doesn't matter.

I read this in a Spanish accent, too many facts for my liking.

If we look back four manager into Everton's past we end up with Mike Walker, spooky.

Because it essentially collates winning and passing as the same, which is what we mock Rogers for.

Martinez got them passing, later managers got them winning. Why is the former viewed as the greater achievment? There's a long long list of passing teams who struggled at the prem level (mowbrays west brom and coyles burnley as two examples). Passing isn't an automatic win code, even though I think it's the most efficient style. The accomplishment is putting a team out and getting them to win a game, whatever the style. Swansea hire the wrong managers, they don;t get out of the championship and martinez' great foudnations don't get talked up. His reputation is reliant on other men doing good work which he has no involvement in.

There's plenty of swansea fans who think martinez would never have gotten them promoted, btw, a quick look on their forums tells me that.

That why when he left, they kicked off calling him Judas etc?

They didn't want him to leave.

Remember when Mike started getting self conscious about his hairline? He looked gutted 24/7.
