Right, foundations he placed. So basically the most impressive thing Martinez has done is leave and let better managers take over?

You could take that view... or ... look at the rubble he started with and admire the strength of his building the depth of his foundations were so superb even Rodgers and Souza couldn't wreck it.

But Rodgers won't be relegated this year, by the standards that praise Martinez, whos team might well go down this year, he must be the new Clough.

According to Wikipedia it was Kenwright who decided on Moyes despite people wanting Andy Gray.

I think Kenwright will choose who he wants at the end of the day. As if he's gunna hire some continental manager.

Yer waaa ? There was no mention of Gray after the 1998 business when he took the Sky money and ran.

Also there was no time between Smith's sacking and Moyes' appointment. It was all done in the blink of an eye after we lost that Boro game in the cup.

As much as we all dream of Liverpool being like Wigan do you not thing the realms of fantasy are creeping into your argument now.

I like to think I started off relatively calm and even handed but I just really don't rate Martinez and I've got a bit carried away with that.

I'm about three more replies from accusing him of aiding and abetting the nazis, if I'm honest.

Eye of the Tiger ..

Last season the glint went from Davies eyes.. Its never returned..
A steely determination to do well is still there.. but the rage, the hunger is long gone..

Moyes has what Martinez wants..
Moyes has what many others wants..

This squad ( even if Fellaini goes ) isnt getting relagated next season...

As Stu Allen once said " Now is the time ! "

That list's so ****e it's untrue. McLeish? And as if we'd have Smith back, we've already sacked him FFS. I'll slit my wrists if any of them other than Martinez gets the job and I'm not even that keen on him getting the job.

I manage a team in the lower leagues and leave then different managers come in get the team promted and into a cup final.

And I get praised for their jobs. Martinez is basically being praised for leaving swansea and letting other managers win games he couldn't.

You're being ridiculous now.

1) Nobody is praising Martinez for the job of getting Swansea promoted, they're simply saying he had a hand in the way the club now operates on the pitch, which he clearly did. Laudrup himself even said that he's just continuing the footballing play style already employed at the club.

2) How can you say that he 'couldn't' win games in the Championship ? Just because they didn't get promoted in their first season back in the Championship doesn't mean that he couldn't have got them to the Premier League himself had he stayed.

That's fair enough mate it's exactly my view on some other names put forward - Poyet for example - the snippets I've seen of him he looks another false prophet.

All opinion.
