And look at the way there clubs have ended up . We need manager who takes it to the next level . I believe martinez or laudrap could do this because of the style they play . How many times this season have we lost or drawn games because we havent shut the game out . We have all the fundermentals to make a great team from the players to the coaches we just need that extra push that other managers can give . Moyes is a great manager however we are at the stage now where we have found the bargain great players and have a team capable of challaging but miss that final push . Martinez last season went all guns blazing away at the emirates and got a result moyes wouldnt do that . Maybe we should look at the german league for managers . Its a good league

Firstly, Neither Adkins or Warnock were given a full tenure at top flight...so you can not really judge on 'how their clubs ended up'....Also, what is wrong with Southampton's position for a newly promoted team? I recall they bossed us around a bit last time we met. It is hardly warnocks fault his chairman decided to piss all over the team with overpriced cr@p. What he did with QPR under the circumstances to get them the premier league is actually quite remarkable.

Secondly, I agree with your statement about lost and drawn games and I believe that 'extra push' we need comes mainly from the mentality of the squad, which is my basis for wanting a manager who can galvanise the squad. If anyone knows how to play defensive, it is Moyes...hence the reason we have not shut out alot of games is likely to depend largely on the mindset of the squad....

Because Martinez had one result by going all guns blazing last season he is a better proposition than moyes?.....Where have they finished over consecutive years under Martinez?

I find it laughable that some think he's holding out for promises on money to spend.

As incompetent as our board are they do not sanction spending on players that would send us bust.

If Moyes where to demand money the club haven't really got then that for me would show he's see's us as a vanity project and values his own interests above the clubs.

How any Evertonian could talk about supporting Moyes in that scenario is beyond me?

Could he be playing mind games with the players hoping that they'll push that little bit harder in hoping that it will make him sign either way if he does go hats off to him for what he done to our club we went from relegation battles to trying for europe on a shoe string budget IMWT

Warnock had plenty of time to impact at qpr yet ends up in the championship where he belongs . Yes i agree southampton are in a good position now but adkins only did well the last few months before he went. The thing with these 2 managers is they are ****e at transfers . Gaston ramirez overrated and warnocks hasnt brought any gems in . Martinez has brough franko and kone who look the part . Laudrap has done the same so we know they both have the eye for cheap gems. Martinezs style is just more attacking than moyes . He looks to get the goals not hang on for draws and i believe that if martinez came here then he would make an impact because we have better players and maybe a better board but i dont no wigans money sitution . The bottom line is we have better players than wigan and have alot more better attacking players than they have so he wouldnt have to change much with the likes of baines mirralas pienaar and felli

Laudrap is a good shout that I would welcome with open arms......Martinez definitely has a more attractive brand of football, but over the course of a season what has that really accomplished? I think Laudrap could do wonders with the quality we have in our squad......and he seems to have the ability to adapt to situations quite well.....What does worry me is he might suffer from the inferiority complex against the RS that moyes does based on the latest result...

Warnock didn't even get a full season in charge at top flight....the subsequent managers have done much worse with greater resources at their disposal....

Er ... no. If performances on the field right now were to be the deciding factor then Moyes would have to sign up now. The team's looking jaded and in need of a boost, and whatever you think of Moyes, if he committed himself now it would be a massive boost to the players and would only help them on the pitch.

Well he did leave it late last time he signed his contract so i hope thats the case this time around i cant think of anyone who would do as good a job as he has done and if he does go i cant blame him either hopfully the squad will dig deep and make him think twice about his intentions

sheeds mentioned big Malky Mackay's name before as a new flavour of the month. It'd be worth bringing him in just to see the look on the refs faces as he collars them going off the pitch. (y)

One thing that strikes me is that when Fellaini signed his last contract, not many people really thought he was committing himself to the club but applauded him for at least making sure that if he went, we would get something (financially).

Moyes could sign knowing that if a club came in for him, it would make little difference to whether he stayed or went. What difference it would make is that we would receive compensation. Yet he doesn't sign. You have to wonder why that is.

Probably because clubs are less willing to pay a large compensation fee for a manager of his calibre. Fellaini was applauded for signing a new contract because he didn't have to, Moyes shouldn't be expected to do the same.

Think Swansea play some brilliant football myself, considering the squad they have.
