What do I know mate out of Martinez , Rodgers & lambert I liked lambert and he's not exactly setting the world alight although he's working under a lot of restrictions wages wise that are still relatively in house .

Not even a season in laudrup looks a prospect and I quite like poyet and his style to be honest . I don't rate Martinez but Iive hear people well connected at Wigan be less than complimentary about him , surprisingly I suppose. If he wasn't an ex RS I'm told hypia is massively highly rated but I'd be amazed if we went abroad as a club .

I think it's just so difficult like I say it's timing , Derek Mcinnes last year was being talked of as the most innovative and talented coach around and less than a year later he's had the bullet from Bristol and I hear similar stuff about Steve Clarke but again it seems way to early to judge.

I think we underestimate the pull the club will have given the quality of the squad , our league standing & wages available however given the success of moyes I think kenwright would look at a talented young comer although when moyes was close to leaving last time Hughes was in the list (he was disillusioned at city by the Thai cowboy and the porential huge financial issues there ).

All that basically says I have absolutely no idea so I'll be waiting to see what happens and whose the flavour of the monthly moyes moves on.

Thank you very much. That made my day.

Sorry mate yeah it's one of my regularly posted opinions but I do think it's accurate .

By the way I think that's a very decent post , I'm not sure about Martinez's decision as I'm not convinced he's just not bottled it. I'm told he told the RS last summer to make a decision on Dalglish because villa wanted him then 'ummed & ahhed ' and at the last minute even batted his eyelashes at villa again before disappearing again.

Laudrup's playing history and his general demeanour plus later face it a potential trophy in his first season certainly pushes him forward and for all my opinion of Martinez if they get passed us (or Oldham ) and make the final he'll almost certainly by flying up short lists .

I'll say it again look at moyes cv before he came here , look at the cv's of an array of managers available at that time and how considerably more 'qualified' they seem than moyes. So there has to be a huge element of good fortune in there .

Laudrup is rightly the current flavour of the month, but it remains to be seen whether he can offer any level of consistency or continuity to Swansea. From what I know of him he's fallen out with a couple of Chairmen in his short managerial career, so I can't see him being a great fit for Kenwright.

EDIT: No way would I want Martinez either. He's not fit to lace Moyes boots, a nothing manager who specialises in stylish defeats.

Sheeds, what's your gut feeling with Moyes?

I hear 'rumours' that people representing him made moves to speak to levy in the summer , I know December 11 he told another manager he fancied a nice abroad , also rumours that on another occasion people saying they represented him spoke to an overseas club also that moyes thinks he has a chance of making the arsenal short list .

So clearly I think he'd not be totally adverse to leaving but leaving without a job or a job that'll pay him close to what he's on now would be the test. If nobody 'big' comes in for him would he walk away & if he did What happens then ? I genuinely think it could go either way dependant on offers. I also spoke to a journo last year that said he thinks moyes would think twice about leaving for no job and letting someone 'maybe' improve on his performance with the squad .

So again I'm fudging because I really don't think anyone knows

If some people think Moyes is looking for the United job (snd SAF is on the verge of retiring) then Moyes' actions in deferring a decision over renewing his contract make more sense. That's not to say United are going to come knocking as clearly the likes of Mourinho would interest them (and Chelsea). Perhaps Chelsea hold the key - Mourinho (or maybe Laudrup or Hiddink) might pave the way for Ferguson to make a decision to retire. It would seem United would be foolish to not entertain Mourinho but he may be Chelsea bound.

So it may all be tied up in that complicated scenario. Moyes might be SAF's choice but, with Mourinho possibly available, they should choose him instead.

Moyes is flashing his fanny and Kim Jong Bill is letting him, leaving the door wide open if it doesn't pan out for him.

We'll end up with Ian Dowie 1st game of the season against Man City
