That's not really true though. A lot of taller goalkeepers have been beaten by looping headers like that

They do, but I have my doubts that he will thrive in this area... at least early on in his career. Headers are probably the hardest thing to predict and it doesn't help that he will have to react earlier than most to stop them. I hope this is an area he really focuses on because he looks a promising keeper.

..the lad at Burnley, Heaton, looks similar size. It is my main fear for Pickford, I have to admit to not being convinced about him just yet. I think there could be a few mistakes in his locker for quite a while.

Said before I think the only finger you could point would be at him not putting a player on the post. As expected though, every goal is going to be scrutinised.

I don't think he was at fault btw... Just stating that I would expect a taller keeper to make that save. Defenders let him get an easy header in on goal

Maybe let's not analyse every second of his performance on international duty and just see how he plays over the course of a season for us? After all De ages looked awful when he rocked up at United whereas Howard was having a blinder at the World Cup, who would you rather have in goal long term though?

Not to blame at all imo. Most keepers would have just been motionless as the header went in but he showed speed to even attempt a save.

If he had a load of mistakes in him he would have made a tonne already, especially when at Sunderland he was facing 20-30 shots a game.

He's already played over 150 times, I think you're being unfairly dismissive over him already.

He might make a few mistakes over the course of the season but it won't be a lot, goalkeepers of the highest quality also make mistakes through out the season .

The lad will save us more points than cost us.
