He will take some stick for that goal, but the defending was extremely poor, no man on the post which leaves a massive gap, he nearly got a touch on it but to be honest bullet headers are hard to predict, we will see how he does in other situations, he also has a lot to learn which we will have to accept as he learns and grows with us.

This England team is set up terribly though, complete opposite of the under 20s which plays proper football, exciting and attacking with a solid defensive base


Not sure bothroyd is the greatest of managers though.

The Sigi chatter wont go away, I really wish it would, he will be good for us, but I would prefer somebody with actual magic on the LW.

Is pickford the smallest keeper in the premiership

..the lad at Burnley, Heaton, looks similar size. It is my main fear for Pickford, I have to admit to not being convinced about him just yet. I think there could be a few mistakes in his locker for quite a while.

I think Jordy will be a good keeper, but height will be a concern no matter how you put it. Not every player is perfect, but taller keepers would have saved that almost every time. He will have to compensate by mastering positioning like the great midget keepers in the history of the game.

It was Holgate defending as well - but, to be fair, it would be a difficult header to defend for anyone and the way those loop is pretty much up to luck.

I agree, but that will be his one weakness. He will be vulnerable to headers like that unless he can read them early.

That's not really true though. A lot of taller goalkeepers have been beaten by looping headers like that
