Computer games.

New Mass Effect is a giant turd sandwich. For a game with so many cut scenes its ridiculous how terrible the facial animations etc are... How am I meant to get engrossed and immersed in a story when it's so hilariously bad. Gameplay and story is bang average so far as well.

This guy nails it lol

'You've got no ****** knees'

Is this one of the fellas off of the kopite twins video?

If I were you I'd still play it before judging. I stayed clear of the reviews but not all the reviews are bad.

Also @LostLegend found it to be okay.

If you like casual gameplay which require pretty much no skill whatsoever and can stomach horrendously bad cut scenes then it's probably alright. It looks quite pretty (bar the characters).

The gameplay is so dumbed down though, like it's been designed so that even mentally challenged people can complete it without any effort involved.

Sad to hear about mass effect being underwhelming.

Anyone played that stardew valley? Worth a go? I have 30 quid for game (or Xbox live) that I would like to spend but can't be arsed waiting another 6 weeks to see if prey is worth it or not

Tbh I mostly play it for the cutscenes and the storyline (RPG element). Also it's quite possible they'd launch a big bug-fixing patch quite fast (it's an EA game after all). Not really arsed about the fighting mechanics (other games for that); as long as the MP is decent I am happy enough.

At the end of the day the worst that can happen is that I don't like it.

People these days don't do anything in between "best game ever!!!1!1" and "0/10 broken gaem lol". Additionally people don't seem to like making their own mind up.

Play it, form your own opinions and hopefully you'll get what you're looking. I'll be buying it as I love the universe. I'm sure there's going to be some elements I don't like but hey ho. I'd rather find that out for myself.

Same for me mate. The ME universe rocks; I want to learn more about it.

I've sunk a considerable number of hours into it and will keep nipping back. It's a great brew & a biscuit game.

Obviously if you were ever into Harvest Moon or even Animal Crossing you'd probably love it.

Also Abigail is baeeee

People here are raving about Nier Automata but I just can't bring myself to try it. Looks like a FF and Devil May Cry combo, with stereotypical asian influence and a waif-like skeletor woman running around in her underwear with a sword 5 times bigger than someone of her size can carry, and she's still able to jump 80 feet into the air.

I am contemplating it whilst I am sort of stuck for games. I have deus ex there that I can't bring myself to play for some reason despite enjoying those games. Mainly throw fifa on and feel like I'm wasting my time.

Is it the type of game that you constantly make progress in? I know the days are normally 20 minutes long or so , so at the end of each one are you improving slightly each time?

Loved mass effect but going to wait on this one and buy it later on when price drops. Keeping my money for persona 5

Persona 5 is the right answer no matter what the question is. Meant to be over 100 hours long as well. Cannot wait. 4 was probably in my top 3 games ever.

Your loss Friend. Appearances can be deceiving. The story in Nier puts most games to shame and is anything but stereotypical. Aside from the grander theme of existentialism and the questioning of what it is to be human, it also makes you see the other side of the sword, the one embedded in the face of the enemies you've been mindlessly hacking away at for hours. Completely different games but in this regard it's a lot like the excellent (albeit generically named) Spec Ops: The Line.

And as the protagonists are all androids, their inhuman feats make some sense, given that they're not actually human... There is a demo out which gives a good feel for the gameplay, if not the story. It's not really just like dmc, bayonetta or anything as it has so many genres mash ups. It will genuinely change into a side scrolling platformer or a 2d shoot 'em up in the blink of an eye. Definitely not for everyone, you may hate it, but the thought of someone passing up on it because they thought it was generic of all things, was too much for me!
