Computer games.

Going to get Mass Effect and give it a go. Never played any before, but I Loved Dragon Age Inquisition and it's the same devs.

Got Battlefield a few weeks ago. Getting very repetitive now, and wondering whether further expansions and add ons are really worth it.

I am contemplating it whilst I am sort of stuck for games. I have deus ex there that I can't bring myself to play for some reason despite enjoying those games. Mainly throw fifa on and feel like I'm wasting my time.

Is it the type of game that you constantly make progress in? I know the days are normally 20 minutes long or so , so at the end of each one are you improving slightly each time?

Yeah you level up in certain areas - farming, foraging, fishing and... something else - at the end of each day. The early days can feel a bit of a slog, but once you've upgraded a few tools it changes quite a lot. It's more of a relaxing fun game than anything intense though.

I spend most of my time fishing to be honest, because I'm determined to catch The Legend without buffs.

Just pre-ordered Little Nightmares, judging by the price it won't be that long but hopefully that means the pacing and atmosphere is just right and hasn't been padded out to try and flog it for more than it's worth

I've been playing Deadpool.

It's really really bad. But also really really funny.

Never managed to finish it. I'd have rather it been an all round bad game, but the writing is really good and it's genuinely funny. It's just that the gameplay is a complete slog.

Looks fantastic that. Exactly my kind of game.

Reminds me of Inside, which I finally got around to the other week. Wonderful stuff. I am a sucker for atmospheric 2d platformers.

Thoughts on it?
I love it, absolutely love it. I'm a big, big fan of Open World games and I don't think I've enjoyed being in the world of one of these games as much as Horizon since Red Dead Redemption. The world feels massive. I love exploring everywhere and using different methods to take down the machines. They haven't reinvented the wheel, they've just made a really good wheel. If there is a mountain that looks like I should be able to climb it then I can. The hunting and scavenging aspects mean that you can really get sucked into some long periods of continuous play without running out of resources.

It has taken all of the best things of the Assassin's Creed series, which I already enjoy, and turned it into something even better.

I can't say enough about how immersive and good looking the world is, even the sound design brings you in deeper to the game.

It might just be an all-time favourite for me.

I reckon i'm going to make it through. It's really not very good as you say but it's pretty mindless and sometimes I need a game where I can just shoot or sword something without needed a 4 minute cut scene explaining how they're family now feels!

You're right though it is written well. His little quips through out and those from the narrator should...hopefully... be enough to get me through.

To be fair that describes 95% of games.

Sadly "genuinely funny" describes about 1% of games, and Deadpool is in that one percent. The issue is finding one that also has good gameplay. On that note though I must recommend Yakuza 0.

I have been very very tempted by Yakuza.

Edit: @RFUS - does Yakuza have any driving in it? (apart from on Outrun in the arcade!)

It's superb. A bit retro, in a good way, feels quite arcadey. Full of great minigames (the karaoke and disco dancing are absolutely hilarious). But on top of all that it has 17 lengthy story chapters with really well written characters, and 100 side stories which are usually very, very funny. The combat is solid and often really entertaining, given the mix of fighting styles and the ability to use surrounding items, be it shopping carts or potted plants, to pummel people.

Can't really say a bad word about it. It's funny, it's fun to play and it is packed with content.

Set in the 80's isn't it? UP MY STREET! (you might have missed the edit about driving?)

It is indeed. A virtual 80s Japan (complete with Sega Arcades and yes, Outrun) is a wonderous place to explore.

There is no driving in the game; it's kind of a semi open world game. It's not really "GTA in Japan" as you might think; it isn't so much a sandbox as a shopping centre. There might not be much square footage but you can barely walk 3 feet without finding something new to see.
