Computer games.

Ace Combat 7 should be arriving on pre-order from Amazon today. I liked the original on PS one waaaay back, the arcade-style mechanics and driving rock soundtrack were great. 20 years on and the visuals on the new one look incredible. Want to try it on the PS VR but I haven't managed to get pick one up yet (Missus wouldn't be happy if I shelled out 250 bucks on the headset when we have a daughter to support) so it'll have to wait.

Still hammering Gran Tourismo Sport, great fun. I haven't ventured online with it (yet) as I want to clear all the challenges in the single-player mode and unlock as many cars as possible before even attempting online tournaments.

Been playing Ace Combat this evening. Absolutely boss. Especially with the Top Gun soundtrack playing.

Did you get the season pass? I can’t work out how you actually get the goodies from it?

Any ideas?

Also, definitely have a go online. You’ll be surprised how fun and how good the races are. I’m not amazing at proper racing games but have never come last .... yet.

Just finished Hitman:Absolution. Really good game. I think I got it free on GWG ages ago but I finally got to play it the other day. I completed it after work today. They've improved from the older Hitman games for me as I couldn't get into the older ones. But this one is quite engrossing

It's gonna arrive tomorrow now, so will have a blast of it then. Not purchased the season pass... I guess the development team (Namco) will gradually release new levels /story /weapons over the next few months.

Dlc does my head in, why should we pay almost fifty quid for an incomplete title? I have added stuff to Skyrim and final fantasy games via Dlc, but it still feels like a way to blatantly rinse consumers of coin. EA with their Star Wars titles for example.

Gran Tourismo Sport is good for online play then you reckon? Heard and read conflicting reports on it...I'm going to try to amass a fleet of kick ass cars and tune them up to the max first!!!

If you pre ordered I think you get the season pass for free so you should get it.

I heard you got the last Ace Combat game for free with it but can’t work out how to get it!

Yeah GT Sport online is loads of fun. Even if you’re not great. There are a load of idiots who try and ruin the races but most people are decent enough.

on a nostalgia tip: in the early-80's we had an Atari 2600 and i loved Space Invaders, Circus Atari, Breakout, Pacman, Yars Revenge, Tanks aming others. Purest gameplay.

So on ebay i just bagged one and thought in my cluelessness i could connect it to my beamer's RCA video-in...but of course the cable coming out the Atari is an old-school tv-cable and we don't have a tv at home.

any ideas? i did ask dr google but only found some complicated DIY blogs, i also searched ebay for adapters and bought an antenna-switch but nothing doing there. my beamer has a single RCA video-in, and separate yellow/red/white RCA's s-video in, as well as hdmi. The Atari doesn't have an audio-out so not sure even if i get a pic how i'd hear sound.

I know about the Flashback console but that's missing key games.

Done nothing decent for going on a decade now. And even then it was just Halo - they've done next to nothing else.

It's easy to pin the blame on Activision, but the truth is that even without the microtransactions the Destiny games were bullet sponge messes.
Harsh that. Destiny has undoubtedly had it's 'rocky' periods but it's still a solid and hugely popular game. I'm looking forward to it's future.

Yeah I think the best bet for an oldie game system would be an old crt tv...they are perfect together. If you watch any of the retro YouTube channels....last gamer, metal Jesus, nostalgia nerd....they all use tv's that were available at the same time as the consoles.
