Computer games.

RIP TotalBiscuit... :(

Just saw the tribute from his Twitter page.

Didn't realise he was younger than me. 33 is no age at all to go.

Lost an uncle to cancer recently as well. It really is a horrendous disease.

Thoughts with his young family :(

Gutted. An actual 'celebrity' that had an effect on my life, pretty much my go to when I wanted to know if a game was really any good or not. Can't believe how young he was. Best wishes to his wife and family :( :(

I need a decent RPG to sink some time into.

Would prefer a turn based game but am happy to try whatever as long as its good. I have narrowed it down to 4 games unless anyone has any better suggestions:

Tokyo Xanadu
Trails of Cold Steel
YS: Memories of Celceta
One of the Atelier games.

I have no clue about Atelier...

I have a Vita, PS3 and PS4 so have download options.

Or do I just chuck on Secret of Mana on my Raspberry Pi as I have somehow never played it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. To give some background on what I like to play I love the Persona games, liked FF games up to X and am a big fan of the likes of Breath of Fire III, Grandia, Lunar etc.

If you have ps plus mate you can try several new games a month,i often try something not my usual taste and am pleasantly suprised, titles like ._until dawn._mad max and sherlock holmes to name just a few.

Nailed it here. Haven't played this particular Quantic Dream game but given they're all exactly the same, I really don't need to.

"Imagine going the cinema to watch Rush Hour and it had 20 minutes of Jackie Chan eating peanuts on a plane in it." hahaha

It's an interactive movie that could be done with a DVD remote. Absolutely no idea why people rave about these things - they're Night Trap but with prettier graphics and even less interaction.

Tried any of the 'Divinity: Original Sin' games?

I’ve not watched that fat mess’ review but I can assure you it’s a very very good game.

And that’s coming from someone who doesn’t like these sorts of games usually.

But the demo got me hooked so took the plunge. It’s very good.

You say that but nothing beat the thrill of helping that bloke shave in 'heavy rain'

How?

Honest question, as I really don't get it - how is it a good game? Sell the gameplay to me, the interactive experience.

You might have been hooked by the storyline perhaps, but there's millions of movies and books that could offer you the same thing; games can have compelling stories and indeed should do in many genres, however it needs to be moved forward through gameplay mechanics to keep the player interacting with the experience and thus engaged. That's why games are different to movies and books.

So what part of it in terms of being a game is good - because to me, these games are 'choose your own adventure' books in movie form, with pressing a button replacing finding a page number and turning to it. Which is fine - I'm sure for some, Detroit: Become Human is a fine example of that - but I can't for the life of me see how that equates to being a good 'game'.

I don't call Lord of the Rings a game because I turned the page over to progress the story when I read it, and Titanic wouldn't be a game if "Press X to shag in a car" popped up on the screen in the cinema.

Haha, completely agree but I have to admit I bloody loved Night Trap!

Elite Dangerous on VR is the best game ever made.

Before I went on my holiday I tried to get the Palin engineer qualification (the first bit of which requires you to travel 5000 light years from the start and then he'll speak to you), managed it with a day or so to spare. The last human player my system logged as having been seen was met on April 4th, and I ended up travelling from our spiral arm of the galaxy to most of the way across to the next spiral arm over. I've been slowly making my way back via interesting unexplored systems and am still 120 jumps (at 30 light years a jump) away from Sol, with each jump at the moment being into unknown and unexplored space. All of the sights - but the multi-star systems especially - are incredible.

Getting access to Palin was the way part. It was getting access to Qwent who tells you about Palin was there hard part!!

About that 30LY range.... You need to go to Farseer Inc. My exploration Asp is fully loaded with shield, weapons utilities etc and still jumps 48LY.
