Right but do you not think that sometimes we have too much of a distance between the players? Also what do you think of when Arteta knocks the ball back for Distin to hoof?

At times, but I think that's down to our lack of pace rather than our formation and setup.

As for Arteta, I think it depends on the situation. If he's knocking it back under no pressure whatsoever, then it's poor play. If he can get Distin into a position where he can drive forward with the ball, then great. If he gives it to one of the centre backs and then makes himself available again, then that's a good thing.

Moyes' worst tactical deficiency is that he doesn't know how to get any width in the team. After all these years we still have to rely on basically central midfielders in wide postions.

I don't think it's that he doesn't know, it's that he doesn't even try. He doesn't buy wide players. He never has.

Landon was the first time I remember us using some actual width, but he was here for 12 weeks only. Hopefully he'll be back, mind.

Yeah I know what you said lid, just saying there are many fans who are still expecting him to be like Kanchelskis, just like they expected Rodrigo to be like Pele.

To be fair though, we needed a right winger, and he bought someone who's clearly not a right sided player, or a winger. **** knows what he is. If he is a central player, then the key question is "why?". That's our most overstocked area.

Why it has to be considered a problem? Villarreal uses this kind of setup in midfield and they are one of the most attractive sides this season.

As TTB pointed out - as long as Cahill is major player for us, as long we will be very rigid tactically, there's not many tactics suiting Cahill (3-6-1 used by Hiddink was an another one) and he is undroppable.

Regarding journalists and fans asking for 4-4-2 - yes, bring Big Sam or Pullis, they play 2 up top almost every time, it's great to watch, isn't it?
