Coleman is my favorite player

am i the only one who doesn't think he is all that? He seems to me to be a one trick pony hit and run into the corner / blind alley...though today i have to hold my hands up and say he had his moments.

You're not the only one mate. For me he doesn't get his head up enough and runs down blind alleys, he gives away possession too cheaply and get's caught out of position far too often. He get's away with being out of position when Neville plays because he drops into right back to cover him but it'll be a bigger problem if we play with Gibbo and Ossie in midfield which is why I would put Neville or Hibbo at right back if (hopefully when) that happens. He has improved recently though and the problems I highlighted can be coached out of his game.

A fantastically incorrect view of Coleman, nicely done.

Coleman is developing and getting better Everytime he plays IMO. He is starting to use pace on the ball, find spaces and also cross in the ball when we have a chance.

He is developing quite nicely to the player we all want him to be, still quite aways to go but its big games like yesterday that will do wonders for his progress.

I think people subconsciously make comparisons with the standard we have on the other side of the pitch. Unreal. That's a world class partnership on display over on the left side. If you keep perspective, it's abundantly clear that Coleman slotting into RB with a player prepared to graft in front of him is a step in the right direction for us. Just accept the teething problems and give the changes support.

Well, one is the fulcrum of our attack. The other gets beat by an overweight Jose Enrique.
Baines deflected a ball going wide into the net...we can go on trading forever. Baines is world class and streets ahead of Coleman, no question. The point is we have to give the situation on the right time to develop with a settled unit, then maybe he wont leave as much 'to be desired' defensive wise.
