I said they did a good job of raising the point. But, I would like to see them take the next step and actually do something. It’s one thing to take a Friday off when the weather is nice. It’s quite another to roll up your sleeves and put some work in or be creative with the type of protests......

So yes it’s a national service thing.

You don’t know what any of the kids have done as regards litter picking or recycling but you want more. You have written them off by default.

Only then can they be classed as work shy lefties . I used to have a communist uncle who refused to work for capitalists. Worked for himself, cash in hand, claimed benefits and paid no tax. A true man of the people. Dead now, not sure too many people cared

I understand that. But claiming that the planet will die in a dozen years or that we have stolen their old age is just juvenile posturing. I have great sympathy for what they want, but overstating the issues and doing sod all practical to address them carries no weight with me.....

I understand that. But claiming that the planet will die in a dozen years or that we have stolen their old age is just juvenile posturing. I have great sympathy for what they want, but overstating the issues and doing sod all practical to address them carries no weight with me.....

They are not in quite as good a position to do anything as the adult world. We all get grey hair and grey thinking as we age. I like the way these kids think because they are not defending the normal ways of doing stuff because they have not done it yet. All things created by people can be changed. Business and government, me and you may not find this convenient but it is true.

They are doing a good job reminding us that we are not.

Well I haven’t written them off nor stereotyped them. Our kids are what they are Kids. They have good thoughts and aspirations, but haven’t yet experienced what really goes on in the world. They can protest about the U.K. not doing enough, but were they protesting outside of the Chinese Embassy, the biggest polluter on the planet. I just want them to grow up, learn, then protest....

How can you hold the position of dismissing youth and their efforts and yet say it is all about experience?

You have pulled @Bruce Wayne on suggestions of age competency but yet feel free to dismiss the concerns of our future voters.
