It was funny today when the BBC referred to Boris’ reference to crusties, and then the BBC cut to their on site reporter who was the epitome of being a crusty.....well I found it funny.....

Are you still trying to find reasons to hate on a load of kids who are raising awareness while the oil companies and big business sit and do nothing?

Nice one, really.

Please watch all of this (I know you won't as it will literally destroy your life.

He actually describes you word for word at one point

no mate, there were no kids involved...I was making reference to the state of the BBC employee reporting on the event.....

what points are they then.....

The three demands of XR have been the same pretty much from the start and are repeated elsewhere:

  1. Government must tell the truth by declaring a climate and ecological emergency, working with other institutions to communicate the urgency for change.
  2. Government must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero by 2025.[16]
  3. Government must create, and be led by the decisions of, a citizens' assembly on climate and ecological justice.

The points raised within this are often versions of:

Climate change is man made, and is a threat to the continuation of humanity - this is from an overwhelming scientific consensus.
Climate change needs to be addressed
It will benefit society and the economy to do so
It is generations who have not caused this that will be asked to pay the price.

Nothing here should be in any way difficult to understand or to follow. It also shouldn't be particularly controversial.

I said earlier that I have a certain admiration for how this lot have gone about their business. I think they are deluded, but I can appreciate their approach....

Fair play, that is quite a climb down. What is the deluded bit you mention though? ow are they deluded?

I have not climbed down anything. I said that the kids were doing it all wrong and that this lot appear to be more effective. The deluded bit is their aims, too many, undeliverable in the timescale, and unpalatable to the majority......

undeliverable in the timescale, well the alternative is waiting for the tories 2050 timescale for instance

unpalatable to the majority,-
the only people who think it is unpalatable are in total denial mate. Let them see how pallatable they find the nightmare that awaits us all if nothing is done (most of them are probably too old to even get there tbh).
