Don't rate him on his time with the RS. He was ace at villa and had a good season last year. Seems a confidence player though, and is injury prone.

But you missed one - if we get Benteke, Sigurdsson makes no sense and we really should get Barkley signing on the dotted line, as he's tailor made for a Benteke type hold-up striker.

Interesting you say that, not sure we can even get Benteke but I can see Barkley at Palace, be a good fit for him.

I'm usually always of the opinion of 'I'm not arsed what we pay as long as we get our targets in'
But.... I would take massive issue if we think that Benteke would be a good purchase for anything above what palace paid for him, decent player though he is.

I don't really like him as a player. But it's a yes from me.

Wholly on the basis of the possibility of him outscoring Lukaku, us finishing above Man U, and him subsequently taking Lukaku's starting place in the Belgium team.

@davek this is the target man Koeman needs to implement his Koeball philosophy. Just imagine Pickford or Williams nailing the long diagonals for this guy to flick down to Wazza? Will be like Pelle and Long in tandem. All hail Lord Ronkoe.

He wouldn't be my first choice at all, but I could imagine him being the type of striker Koeman would go for. His control is better than our previous strikers, so the ball may stick a bit better as a target man.

The injury worries me though.
