Sorry but disagree entirely. Deulofeu didn't improve our first team and was very much a squad player - Atsu was the like for like replacement for that role.

We don't/can't go out and spend £10m+ on the quality required to outright improve on Mirallas/Pienaar at this time. A loan as an interim for the squad and look to make a permanent signing to replace Pienaar long term is fine.

We should be able to as we should have 40 million to spend or something is drastically wrong. If we dont then we shouldnt of spent our entire budget on a player not worth anything near 25 million.

We were close to Bahoui before we went for Atsu so we'll either go for him or someone else, it's not a big deal.

That last bit is key here JDawg. He knows what system he's playing in, he knows his team mates - he's good to go. Expecting a good start and a return to that almost telepathic understanding with Barkley.

if we don't get atsu i don't want a youngster on loan tbh. think we need someone closer to their prime. if there's genuine interest in perisic then if we got him and a youngster to cover whilst he was still out, i'd settle for that. no idea how long he's actually injured for mind you
