I actually think the Atsu move has broken down - I thought so yesterday tbh. I thought it'd quickly follow Lukaku if anything were to happen.

I don't think it'll be for the playing time reason though; I think if Mourinho has any sense he'll be looking at our squad and wondering if we could do what Liverpool did last year.

Sorry but disagree entirely. Deulofeu didn't improve our first team and was very much a squad player - Atsu was the like for like replacement for that role.

We don't/can't go out and spend £10m+ on the quality required to outright improve on Mirallas/Pienaar at this time. A loan as an interim for the squad and look to make a permanent signing to replace Pienaar long term is fine.
