This is awful :(

That was on Newsnight last week.

Stick gas chambers and ovens in there and you could change " re education camps " to concentration camps,

It`s okay though, as we should all look up to them as a model society, due to fact that they`ve allegedly got on top of the virus, that they passed onto the rest of the world.

Good lord. You could say that about Guantanamo.

Astounding spectacle. Basically China stating to the world we are more than equal to you uncle Sam, now move over already.

deeds matter more than words now - there has to be (financial) consequences for what they've done in Xinjiang, and what they did in the early days of COVID.

I know there's a lot of people here genuine in their support for minority rights in China, but there are some who enjoy demonising all things Chinese in the process. There is a consequence for that, and it's to be found in the everyday stories of people like those in this article.

Think on. Words have consequences.

Yes entirely correct. The Chinese government should be singled out.

However, you won't have to worry too much now, Trump is out the picture and the UK is going to have rely on China as much and most likely more than the USA going forwards.. I suspect you won't see much of the demonsing, and Stepfords will pipe down here, already have...

Indeed could start with reliance of PPE, and all things COVID management related.

@davek 's friends...horrifying.

But it’s only 3,000,000 people being retrained. It’s not as if the great bunch of lads are up to no good. Meanwhile protests take place all over the west against the Israelis treatment of the Palestinians, but not a peep from anyone (yes, you Corbyn) regarding the forced internment and treatment of Uighurs......

People 'claim' to support Palestinians....but have no real idea whats going on beyond hating Israel.

The same people 'claim' to support the Uighurs and say that they dont support China...but are quiet as mice.

Theyre waiting for someone to tell them what to say.
