Is anyone else half expecting Beckford to be on the bench against Wigan...........

Its not saying much but Beckford has been far and away the best striker we have over the past month. Unlike Saha you don't see him floating outside the box when we are attacking.

HOWARD WTF! He's did that about 3 times today.

Anyway...more than happy with the point.

1st half we were garbage. 2nd half better when Rodders played more advanced.

Happy for Beckford. Lets see what he does against Wigan. But lets not start sucking each other off about him...

Baines, Distin, Jags, Felli, Rodders, Pienaar all top today.

But its papering over the cracks...our pace and movement is woeful when we have the ball, we didnt cross the ball in the 1st half and tippy toed around the box...2nd half, we pumped ball after ball into the box and got a goal, could've had more. We rely on crosses, once we start pinging em in, we get goals.

We have to admit, Chelsea went ultra defensive in that 2nd half and got punished for it.

Seriously Howard looks [Poor language removed] right now his concentration is horrible dropping balls left and right. Something is not good with him.

Great result. Played very well in 2nd half. Distin, Jags, Baines were beasts.

Beckford. Important goals against Chelsea AND ManU now. He may have a future and I hope he gets a nice run in for us up front.

Sadly, if Mucha is up to it, I think it may be time to drop Howard for a game or so. He used to make 1 or 2 gaffe's a year, but he's single handedly dropped us points from multiple games and had 3 moments today that caused great concern. He just isn't sharp or on his game right now. I'm a huge fan of Howard, so for me to admit this is very tough...

Indeed! Loving the rodders / felli partnership in midfield, that is well solid. They both had decent games, a battling performance with great stuff in the second half especially though i'd rather not see felli give the ball away so many times.

Beckford's other important goal was against Bolton but we knew what you meant.

I thought we played some nice measured stuff second half. Fellaini was startng to pull a few strings and they found our play down the flanks a bit hard to handle. Only one team in it in the last 20 minutes for me.

The commentry pointed out that Beckford doesn't hide. Something with which our others strikers have been accused of this season. Think Charlie Nicholas said something similar this morning. Thats 2 goals, 8 to go for our new Marcus Bent!*
*Reference Marcus Bent thread!

dont agree with any of that highlighted.
i thought the first half was very good ,both teams were working very hard to combat each other.
our overall play i thought was superb from start to finish considering we are away and playing against the prem champions.
we looked more handy than them imo.

atleast we looked up for it today! (ok needed to go behind again though) there was a little bit of that famouse moyes team spirit out there!

about time like!
