As a lifelong Everton fan who has been involved in this forum for the last ten years, ( 4 years registered), I'm amazed at how, collectively, we can't unite to understand and support where we are and what we are right now.
This isn't about how much we love our royal blue jerseys, but more about how messed up Koeman made us and how we represent our club, fans and ethos going forward.
Any of you that expected, or still expect a complete turnaround this season, (let alone in January) need a real realty check. I'm sorry but its true.

If we, amazingly, manage to sign this guy and N'zonzi, together with the improvement BFS has give us. It will be a massive plus for our beloved club at this moment in time. For me, Cenk looks like a great buy, and far better than I was expecting tbh. If we also get N'zonzi, great too. Has anyone looked at how much this guy has improved over the last 3_4 years? This isn't the player we knew from Blackburn.
Rather than be constantly negative, get on side. BFS and EFC matter right here and now not what's happened in the past. COYB

I'm amazed if you been here ten years you'd expect any different.

There's a wide range of highly valued and well thought out opinions which cover a gamut of intellectuals across the board.

And then there's @davek and @Zatara

Balances that right out.

Start posting more you scumbag.

Kone scored 8 goals in 17 games this year on Turkish league, which is not extremely well because teams like Sivasspor (in which Kone plays) rely on one player to score, so he gets almost all the passes and scores mostly against teams at the same level or below. You can easily find low-level strikers scoring 20-25 goals in a season in Turkey, but when they move to the top teams they can only score 1/3 of that.

Cenk is a really good player and he is still improving so if you can be a little patient, he may be your next Lukaku.
Interesting to pull stats between the two. Keep note that Tosun proved what he could score last season, Kone could just be on a hot streak, or not.

They both have even goals in the league, but Kone has played more. with those goals over 1500 minutes compared to 1100 or so. If you include the CL Tosun has 4 more goals in 100 more minutes, or one every 133 minutes, while Kone is 1 ever 186 minutes.

Its interesting to note that Tosun averages 3 shots per game, compared to 2.2 for Kone. He gets off more shots, and according to stats they are from open play, and he unlike Kone who scores with almost exclusively his left foot and head, Tosun seems to make up that entire .8 shot difference with his right foot, as his left foot and head are equal to Kone. Overall very balanced. Why the difference in shots and shooting with his right foot?

Perhaps the answer is in the last very interesting stats, losing the ball do to being dispossessed, and poor control. Kone loses a combined 6.6 balls per game to being disposessed and poor control, whereas Tosun only loses 4 per game. Thats a difference of 2.6 per game, indicating Kone gets more passes to him, but loses the ball more frequently(maybe its because he cant shoot with his right and tries to switch it or is easier to defend), and still scores a good bit less per 90 minutes.

TLDR: Cenk scores at 1 per 133 minutes, Kone 1 per 186 minutes. Kone gets more passes per game, but loses the ball much more frequently than Tosun, who then gets off more shots, and those are from open play, not the counter or penalties etc.

Absolutely great post, and hits it right on the head mate.
Wise words, in my opinion.
