Current Affairs Cenk Tosun debate

Germans I've always found them to be some of the best people. Tosun is no different. But I am also pro-kurdish.

Always falls into my way of thinking Tosun does.

People are quick to say he isn't good enough. But then he never plays. When he does it's in a poor performing team that isn't designed for his style and therefore he can't overperform as a result.

Same with a lot of other players before him like klassen, vlasic etc.

Fans are quick to write them off despite hardly seeing them play but then complain that the players ahead of them are not good enough.

For me, I'd start him absolutely over lewen. When your main source of goals isn't scoring then try another. If he doesn't play well then he has done as well as the last one. I'd even give niasse a go if need be , until we find one that chips in with goals.

And to think people were glad we sold 20 plus goals Lukaku, because his goals weren't important.

I love that the response from some to those of us that are appalled by this is 'get a life'.

So to get a life in this instance is to ignore a deepening humanitarian crisis and the actions of a despot, being supported by a player who sports our club badge and just get behind the lad and chill and enjoy some footy.

Absolute nonsense. We have had plenty of players who have done things of which I have disapproved, but never before something like this. It is not virtue signalling, it is not making a mountain out of a mole hill. What he has done is wrong. And if people on here want to absolve both themselves and Tosun of thinking of it any more deeply, by merely claiming that he is just supporting the troops, then shame on them too.

I have never once booed an Everton player. If I haven't liked them for something they've done, the way they've played or their attitude, I've just sat there quietly not cheering or some such. That has changed with this, this goes even further. I will be utterly livid to see him ever pull on our shirt again. We are all very quick to praise the club for having a good heart and getting things right when it comes to community etc. Yet here they are silent. It's just not on.

So if managers think he's rubbish and don't play him, and we think he's rubbish when he does play, the logical conclusion is that he's not rubbish, it's just some bizarre set of circumstances conspiring to make us think that way? You don't think it might be more likely that he's just, you know, rubbish?

More to the point, he's clearly an absolute tool.

You say that but the managers who think they are rubbish are also the ones we are sacking for being, ironically, rubbish.

We as fans see the team play rubbish and then when a new player is thrown into that and doesn't perform, then they are no worse than what's on the pitch.

We aren't talking about subbing a striker on 2 goals a game and replacing him with someone who can't kick straight. These have all been players who don't get a look in but the ones who are picked are playing good enough for the relegation zone.

Perhaps the manager is wrong about these players? So many top players have been treater as not good enough by lesser managers.

Surely you can't base a player opinion on whether the manager rates him and in the same breath call for the manager to be sacked?! Same as seeing these players lose to shef united for example and then when said players come on in those losing games for 20 minutes or less base your opinion of them on that?

it's not like he's invaded Syria himself with a gun and grenades isit, he's just showing support for his countries troops ( rightly or wrongly )

all that politics doesn't bother me in the slightest when it comes to footy, what bothers me is he's a slug and picking up fat wages to sit on the bench

stop being such a drama queen
