Anyone have or had a BMW 318d? Need something for about £3k only for the next 3 years or so and have seen a 2007 one with 120k miles. Looks decent and the review on Parkers is very complimentary but just wondering if anyone knows anything to watch out for etc?

Not a Liberty though is that?

I’ve had that discussion with a few friends who have bought them, they all say they like the higher position and claim it is safer because they can see further ahead. I point out that because they have a higher car, if I am behind them, they have stopped me from seeing ahead so it is more dangerous as I can only react to what they do. Nothing worse than being behind a 4wd which suddenly stops because they haven’t noticed a bus that has stopped right ahead of them.

Just say you can't stand women driving

57k in 14 years? In a Yaris?

Are you an 80 year old woman who can barely see over the steering wheel?

And there's a growing army of us......

Nah, we live on the Glasgow Road and the buses into the city are so frequent we hardly use the car.
And we've bus passes.................

It's more than likely been a company car mate, which should mean it's been serviced properly.

They're pretty much bullet proof, as long as they've been looked after.

The 320d is the better engine, as it's got a bit more power / pull.

Don't go anywhere near it unless it's got a full service.

Nah...I was gently trying to steer him away from any other flavor than a Wrangler. I've had too many friends over the years have issues with Cherokee's etc. Jeep only seems to do one thing consistently well but there's always the exception to the rule.

I'm not a huge fan of Jeep reliability but the two most worth considering are the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee. The others are fine utility vehicles but not "Jeeps."

Kinda' funny how that word is used now...Jeeps have been the definition of utility vehicle for over half a century. If you're not a crossover, you're just not hip though. We're gettin' old...speaking of, look at these beauties:

They cost a mint but the man does the job right.

Just had my first drive in a Tesla S. Crazy, crazy feeling - the acceleration is amazing. Stepping back into my diesel felt like going back in time. Think I'll be going electric in the next couple of years.

Drove the latest hybrid Toyota Yaris during my summer job, nice little car and felt alert. Comfort wise it was dull but fun to drive.

You’ll need strapping for your wrists
