Saw one of these in Garston yesterday mate - top of the range; the Ford Racing Puma. Hen's teeth, these;

Lol - this is about 32 times better than my Puma was!

Ford nuts - I hear strange news from your waterlogged little island that old rust-free Fords from drier, higher altitude climates like my glorious currency-weak homeland are being snapped up and imported by loaded, nostalgic Poms. Talking Escorts, Cortinas, Sierras...

Anyone know if there's truth in these rumours?

I've not seen any, but it's a good idea I suppose.

I doubt they'd be used as daily drivers anyway.

As far as affordable cars go I think Ford's lineup is by far the best looking of the lot. I wish I had listened to myself and bought stock in them when the price of a share was in the $2-3 range once they refused the bailout. I eventually did when it was $9/share and have made decent money on it as its in the $15 range now.

Thinking about buying a Fiesta SE or ST (depending on insurance cost). Unfortunately Fiestas for the US/Canada are made in Mexico. I have nothing against Mexicans making cars. However if I'm going to pay up to 20K or more for any object I'd at least like to know that someone out there made a living wage assembly of said object.

Maybe I'll just look into Focus SE/STs both are getting marked down here.

New baby Jag launched this week - the XE. Brand new car from the ground up, engines very clever (and newly designed by JLR) as well. Although unpopular, I liked the run-out models of the X-Type, and earlier examples go for peanuts, and are Mondeo based (20% shared parts) so should be reasonably reliable. Anyway I digress. Hopefully, this XE should do well.

I thought about doing it then, too. Really wish I would have.

I grew up on Mopars (Chryslers, for you uninitiated Euros), but they definitely lost their way during the Daimler Chrysler years. Their new stuff though has been ace.

Charger Hellcat. 707 ponies, son.

Not that I could ever afford one, the only car I'm aspiring towards right now is a Jeep Renegade, but that's a while off yet for me.

(Or, possibly the new Compass if they do a diesel version in the US, but I'm banking on that rumor not actually happening)
