Hoping Richy is just precautionary mate. In all honesty he didn’t look right from the start. Probably shouldn’t have started him. Didn’t help whenever he was on the ball Brightons players hacked away at his ankles. Clearly something they were told to do.

It's not just the signings, important though they've been. Ancelotti's shown willingness to keep faith in players that he believes in who are going through difficult times, and this is beginning to play dividends. Form is temporary, class is permanent. Last season Sigurdsson and Iwobi were unredeemably awful, they didn't have a good game between them, but look at them now. Three assists today, and their general game just seems to be on a very different level to last season. Davies is another who did really well today. Let's just hope that he can work some of the same magic with Pickford.
