To be fair to Alan Myres even when he was working for Sky in the summer and his colleagues were pushing the £75m bids for Zaha he was adamant we weren’t gonna sign him and he was right. Turns out we’d made a bid which was turned down and that was it. Sky were convinced we wanted him and were prepared to paying up to £75m for him.
