I say it every time but I think people hugely overestimate the role of a captain in modern football. It's a figurehead role, it has virtually no material impact.
Don't think the captain is important as most people make in the modern game but sure, Coleman is a good one.
See I think that’s a fair point. You’re probably right that having a great captain makes a difference, but they’re few and far betweeen I reckon. An ineffective captain is not important at all, but I think a great captain can be a difference maker. Most great teams have a real leader in them, someone who demands respect and effort on the field. Coleman is the closest we have....he seems to be growing into the role as he gets older. Leadership is the one quality that we have been lacking for the past couple of years.
Something fishy about that choiceHibbert.

Lets move to the future. Jags must go. He isn't our best centre half and whilst he has been a loyal servant and a terrific player he is part of the past. Last few years, has been as much a problem as guys like Schneiderlin and Mirallas. Snided two managers. Get rid.Coleman for me, and keep Jags he was still head and shoulder are best centre back again this season.. the lads been a great centre back for us.
