With the league on hold and therefore no games being played surely a club like Man City (OF ALL TEAMS) shouldn't be cheating their fans out of money?

No they shouldn't. It's a disgrace to be truthful.
A significant chunk of us pay for our season tickets by monthly direct debit.
All they need to do is suspend the direct debit payments until the season resumes (if it does).
But no. They continue to suck the money out of our accounts. The good news is that the DD
scheme is for 10 months of the year and ceases at the end of this month.
There is a huge disconnect between match going City fans and the people running the club.
It has been happening for years and it is actually getting worse. The one thing and the one thing
only they are interested in is money. They constantly try to 'monetize' the fans. They are not interested
in the normal, loyal match going fans who have been going for years through the thick and thin (with a lot of
thin during the past 40 years!). They simply want the overseas tourist fans who will pay silly prices for
tickets and spend a fortune on over priced food and drink in the stadium and a small fortune in club shop
before and after the game. They openly promote 'the match day experience' (whatever that is?) We have
cringeworthy pre match and half time 'entertainment'. Silly videos played before the game narrated by some
one trying to put on a Manchester accent. It is toe curlingly bad! As long as the stadium is full, they don't care.
We have an average of something like a 97% attendance per game (which included season ticket holders who
don't attend - like all other clubs). So they just ramp it up. They have to be careful. They really do.
This crisis is focusing a lot of peoples minds and as we all know, football fans have very long memories...
